Ahhh I'm so glad I found this fic today! I think it fits so well! I'm actually stunned to see it was first published in 2017 because you're so on the money.

And THANK YOU for fleshing our girl out! Kairi deserves so much more than her canonical writing. You have such a great grasp of a personality that only feels hinted at. I can't wait to keep reading.

So I read the entirety of the story in the weeks leading up to the release of Kingdom Hearts 3. And, after getting to that final world and ending...wow, I really wish a bunch of the stuff you wrote was in KH3 instead.

I always like to search out and read stories where Kairi gets focus and spotlight, seeing different peoples takes on her and her potential as a character. I really enjoyed her whole arc throughout all this - her tumultuous relationship/burgeoning friendship with Axel, her reconnecting with her past, dealing with her fears and doubts and feelings of uselessness, and the ups and downs of her training.

And culminating with the fight against Vanitas was just an excellent way to finish off. While I may not be a big fan of more slow-burn SoKai stuff, that's a minor nitpick, and their relationship is still cute, too. I really enjoyed this, and it's now one of my favourite Kairi-centric fics.

Nice set up here for the characters. I appreciate you let us see more of the characters (Ven and Terra). I really need to get onto finishing that game, haha. Also liked the Sora and Kairi snuggles. Very cute. Aqua teasing him was also cute.

Hey there, just read your story all the way through and it's amazing. I can't wait to start on the sequel and see where you take it. You did an awesome job with keeping distinct characterization and keeping to the lore while expanding it. I also lived the hints at Merlin life outside of the KH story. I loved the Sword in the Stone as a kid and later enjoyed The Once And Future King. I'm off to start reading the next story. Later, Alex

This chapter was just too precious! I especially get a kick out of Rikku blushing and getting flustered! Sora is of course my favorite to see all awkward and what not but it's always a treat to see it on Rikku! So between the two of them blushing I just couldn't help but grin like an idiot! This whole chapter was wonderful and I'm so very excited to see what you have planned for the sequel!

Gosh, poor Ven and Aqua are just having a heck of a time. Thankfully they have each other. And Sora and Kairi moments... i don't think that I will ever tire of them! They are just so wonderful and honestly? I'm totally looking forward to Rikku giving the two of them some hard times! ;)

NOOO! Gosh darn fricking DONALD! I understand your concern dude but really? REALLY!? GAH! Okay *takes a deep breathe* in all seriousness that moment between the two of them was just to adorable. Honestly, the way they went back and forth - him kissing her hand, that damn fricking smile of his as she realizes what he realizes. Her running her thumb over his lips and then him pulling her in for - ALL OF IT! I loved it so so much. Even Donald interrupting was perfect, even if I AM upset about it ;) I really can't blame the duck, he was just worried about Sora. I mean really, the guy was sleeping and then all of a sudden jumps out of the freaking ship. I woulda been worried too!

Finally the gang is back together again! Though I'm with Kairi in wondering how long it will last. Wonderful work on this chapter! Sorry about the little rant up above there! ;) Looking forward to reading the next one!

Oh my gosh! This freaking chapter! So amazing! I have to agree that Kairi fighting someone who looks very similar to Sora is a good opportunity and I think it really showcases how far she's come as a character as well. And OMG! THE END! Thank goodness I don't have to wait for another chapter to get those precious Sora and Kairi moments! I'm so excited! Great work on this chapter!

Holy freaking... no way. Sora! T-T I just, I can't even! This chapter was so freaking intense! And then you end it with a freaking "dear sora".. my heart. I'm seriously tearing up at this whole chapter. Wonderful, wonderful work!

I freaking love this chapter! Seriously. It had me laughing, grinning like an idiot and.. well, tearing up. Anytime Axel mentions Roxas I seriously can't help it! Axel teasing Kairi about Sora too was just perfect!
