Um, I don't know if you meant to do this. But when you said" Not a single person in the room felt sorry for Hiccup..." You are basically saying no one feels sorry for him or that they feel he deserved it. I thought I would let you know. I probably would have put everyone or something like that.

The one who should be "paying" for this is the STUPID "Astrid" you have created. The real Astrid would not have stopped the first time, let alone allow herself to be captured after taking Viggo, a known liar and manipulator, at this word.

Again, there is NO way that this happens. Astrid would not drop her guard and, in all likelihood, would have killed Viggo where he stood for gloating over Hiccup's death.

I really HATE it when writers fell compelled to write graphic and/or gratuitous torture scenes. Also there is NO way Astrid and the others would have flown away. They would have taken their shot to take Viggo even if Hiccup was further injured or killed, because to leave him there would be to GUARANTEE that he was killed either quickly or more likely, slowly and tortuously and no one who cares for another would let that happen to the one they cared about-especially Astrid.
