This. Is. Excellent.

I love the beginning, with the game and the friendship and Roxanne finding a way to be included. It reminded me of when I was a kid, wanting to play with the boys. (Soldiers need a medic, and someone has to figure out how to make guns and tanks out of cardboard, rubber bands, and bottle-caps.) It was extremely true-to-life and well-written.

I loved seeing how the game, and the friendship, evolved over time. I love the different iterations of the game, I love the playing outside and the letters and the tabletop game. It's excellent.

The bit where Megamind asked Roxanne to be his Evil Queen was a joy to read. I kind of felt like this was Syx testing the waters for how she'd react if he admitted to having a crush on her, and I think she responded it time. That was excellent. I also liked Sara's reaction to Syx. I understand why she was jealous, but I don't like how she treated Roxanne's being bisexual. (Seemed realistic, though, sadly.)

Hal came across very well. He was extremely in-character, and everything sounded exactly how it would go. I dislike him, and his type, and you wrote it all extremely well.

The ending was perfect. Metro Man knows what's up; he knows that his besties have mutual secret crushes on one another, and he wants them to get together already! Megamind being concerned about he game not being fair to her, and not wanting to pressure her, was excellent. The kiss at the end was excellent.

This is a wonderful, wonderful story, and I greatly enjoyed it. Thank You for writing this. :D

Ah, your usual excellent work, keeping the characters in character even in this very alternate universe, keeping to the structure of the movie, and at the same time using the archaic setting to good effect. Also, I like the way the slightest hint of queerness sends ordinary citizens into a panic, but alien kids are allowed to mingle freely with the populace. Loved it when Megamind threatened to go to Wisconsin to kidnap Miss Ritchi.

This. Was. Incredibly sweet and an amazingly interesting way to tell their story! Making it all a game they played out in their heads! That's great!
