This was nice; I'm enjoying your stories and expanded takes on the scenes.
I especially like that you touched on the baby and the legal ramifications, which the show hasn't as of yet. (I'm spoiler free, so not sure if any of this is based on spoilers or just your own made up stuff).
But anyway, because of Emily's eggs/dna, the show kind of is treating Ali as Emily's surrogate (at least before they decided to be together, be a family). But legally, Ali would be the mother and have rights, and have to extend them to Emily, even without the threat of jail (at least that's what I believe is correct. Emily presumably signed the rights to her eggs away).
And it's not even just jail that makes it important; what if something happens to Ali during delivery? If they don't have a plan in place, or weren't married, then there's no guarantee for Emily to be the baby's legal parent, guardian. Sooo, yeah, I like that you touched on it.
I would really like on the show for someone to refer to Ali as a mother or mom at some point... I mean I'm sure once the baby arrives and they are engaged, married, it will happen, but even now I kind of have wanted to hear that.
But anyway, fanfic fills in for what we aren't seeing! So thanks!

This is nice. Not sure if this is based on a spoiler, but I've been thinking the show should address custody, not just in case of jail but because Ali is the legal mother and if something happened to her Emily would have no rights.

It's just one of those many things glossed over in the last few episodes. I was disappointed with their kissing rock scene, partly because it was so tame compared to the others, but mainly because of the history of kissing rock to them, and I wanted to see them talk about that or more about their baby or future. So your take here is nice. Thanks.
