Awwww I really missed reading your work! I've been incredibly busy lately but that doesn't matter because I'm in a much better mood now thanks to this xD I LOVED the ShinAo scene where little Conan was being protective of Aoko, and how Aoko felt quite safe around a little kid, and considering how they're normally quite tense around each other (or at least Conan is) made me find it even cuter! I love KaiAo to death but Shinichi and Aoko are something else entirely and I LOVE HOW YOU WRITE THEM! I really love how she pulled him onto his lap too hahaha she's such a little bitch I'm sure she half wanted to tease him about it xD (keep throwing little hints about her sleeping or bathing with him because I'm finding it too amusing hahahhaha it's a nice difference to the Shinran ones that we're all used to). Once again I wanna say that I REALLY enjoy your work AND I FUCKING APPRECIATE HOW MUCH TIME YOU PUT IN (AND APPRECIATE IS A FUCKING UNDERSTATEMENT I CANT THINK OF DIFFERENT WORD COZ IM NOT A WRITER LIKE YOU YOU BEAUTIFUL TALENTED BITCH)

I originally read this piece at AO3 a while ago and am SO GLAD to have found the continuation here. Thank you so much for keeping this amazing story going! It truly means so much to me that my favorite character Aoko and my second favorite Ran are finally getting the spotlight they deserve. It is obvious that you sincerely appreciate these two and I am completely here for it! I hope you complete this story and I can hardly wait for an update!

Now to discuss what I absolutely LOVED through this story and why.

I adore how Ran is completely DONE with Shinichi's bullshit and how she is no longer afraid to call him out on it. You can really see how Aoko's influence really lifted up her courage. Ran also not backing down from her choices while still admitting when she was wrong is everything. She isn't perfect like many believe her to be but you somehow manage to avoid making her a complete dense, trainwreck (most authors do this in a way that is incredibly distressing as it doesn't have an logical build up). Every choice she makes we know why she makes it and thus is understandable and so beautifully valid. I like the way Shinichi also seems to view her as this "sweet Angel," (as Vermouth would call her) who can do no wrong and CLEARLY its that troublemaker Aoko Nakamouri who is the true disaster that is in Ran's life. Seriously it's hilarious that Shinichi and even Heiji to some extent see Aoko as the devil incarnate due to Aoko's (cannon) questionable moral codes. The only thing I wish is that Shinichi will hopefully realize that Aoko isn't an enemy and while she has influenced Ran, everything Ran did it was her own choice and decision I want him to respect that. In this most recent chapter (chapter 20) I love seeing him really learning more about Aoko and I hope he will eventually see her as a human and not just a culprit who endangered his "innocent," Ran.

Now for my favorite blue child Aoko! You did absolutely AMAZING capturing her real and original energy! As someone who may have never known her mother (its like she never existed! Seriously Nakamouri-keibu wtf!?) And whose father is always working, Aoko basically is as feral as a human can get nowadays. I honestly believe if the Kurobas hadn't involved her in their lives after she met Kaito she would no doubt be a lost child. She may have gone into detective work, fight clubs (she LITERALLY hurled a desk across the room with scary accuracy!) Or who knows what else. As it stands I adore this fanfic for acknowledging that breaking into places with Kaito is always HER idea (because it's true) and if they get caught it would most likely be her fault (more facts) and how Kaito would take the plunge for her despite being the one protesting to begin with. I like the addition of the bow and arrow as it's something different that distinguishes her from the other Gosho girls self-defense. I also appreciate her character flaws such as low self-esteem as it is a direct result of being neglected by the people she loves. After rescuing her from Heiji's questioning and anger Kaito comments how she must have a death wish and sadly it doesn't seem far from the truth. It is not that Aoko wants to die, it is more like she sees herself as less valuable as Ran or any other person because she believes the loss of her life will have little effect on the people who are suppose to be closest to her. In her mind Kaito doesn't care and neither does her dad so what's the point in really worrying about herself dying? They'll be just fine without her because they never needed her to begin with. Throughout this entire piece we see her comment on everything Kaito does/did for her as a friend but we never hear about what SHE does /did for Kaito as a best friend and it is definitely something I would love to see explored into further. Why is she important to him? We know she is because even in his professional Kaito Kid form she is the first thing on his mind when she is in the same building (Kaito questioning Ran was EVERYTHING. Like chill Kaito she's still alive and no one is buying your "I'm only concerned for my favorite inspector" bit except the vulnerable Aoko anyway.) We get some Kaito POV that also reitterates his care and devotion to her as he willingly risks his life over and over to save hers. He's just the absolute worst at showing her his love and she's really bad at recognizing it when it does appear (like when he picked her up at 2 in the morning or all the times he's Kaito Kid.) Aoko and Kaito have never been the drama pair, really. While they DO have dramatic moments it's more likely they would joke, argue and basically address the problem outright rather than letting it simmer until they burst with the Only exception being the Kaito Kid topic which he doesn't address. Mostly in the series they act comically and resolve issues in regular anti-climatic ways. That's why I LOVED Aoko's reaction to the most drama-induced couple Ran and Shinichi. She was so fed up with the both of them and it was absolutely refreshing since it would be just like her to take the initiative and settle it quickly and then break tension later on (like when she covered her eyes in case they weren't decent). I also love how it is elluded that she is much better at disguise than Ran as we see her fool Shinichi repeatedly. I like to think she's really taking Chikage and Kaito Kid's suggestions to heart and I hope we can see her really use these teaching effectively in a way that will REALLY get a shock out of them. Despite her broken body she's still going strong but these near misses would mean more if she got something out of them more than just bruises. Maybe if her loved ones noticed and cared. She really just needs someone to give a Damn and it's really sad how she can just brush things off like that (I was really curious to see what Shinichi was going to say before being interrupted. No doubt he noticed her lack of empathy for herself while she is incredibly observant and considerate to others. So glad he seems to be watching after her the same way Kid looked after Ran. These two boys, honestly!) It broke my heart when she said all she wanted was hand holding and forehead touches when Shinichi was talking to "Ran." And how she wanted to cuddle and kiss Kaito like so pure! Aoko just needs to really shine in something and I really do think stealth, observation and disguise is it. She even helped Shinichi with a case and noticed a small detail he didn't.

Both these girls have the potential and I cant wait to see what new ways you are going to bring it out of them.

Love this whole story! The way the girls are growing into their own, and challenging the boys to acknowledge them. Perfect!
Even the sorrow and despair and depression of self doubt and others misjudging them. Well done.
A few times I did get confused as to who was speaking but kept going a caught on.
A few other times when they were speaking in their minds, I got lost in the sentence structure. But again, I kept reading more and adjusted it in my head then it made sense.
Nothing to worry over. Still a excellent idea and plot.
I have favourited and follow both this story and you as a writer. I will definitely be rereading this!

I reread this entire fic once again because it's so so good. Discovering your stories was the reason I was put on this earth. Female friendships such as Ran and Aoko's is so beautiful and tasty and I eat it with one of those huge ass spoons

I ENJOY READING THIS SOOOO MUCH! Ok ok I reread this because I have a day off tomorrow (yay!) and I have another long ass comment so I hope you don't mind '
First I want to say that I really love the main plot its so fucking good I love how the case is being solved by my 2 favourite characters i.e. Aoko and Ran. These girls deserve more love and are both capable and strong and they keep developing as this story goes on and I love them and I LOVE THIS STORY. They investigate in their own way, and it is a lot more interesting than how Shinichi and Heiji, for example, would solve a case :D I'm also very interested in the romance side-plot, mainly with Aoko and Kaito XD ik that in the grand scheme of things the romance isn't as important, but I am curious if they'll have their first kiss in this story and if so who initiates it?! Will it be after Aoko and Ran solve the case fully or before? Will Kaito tell Aoko about Kid before or will Kid still be in between them? Will they even get together or will AOKO DIE BEFORE ANY OF THAT IM SO CURIOUS HOW YOULL WRITE THIS! I'm honestly so so excited for the rest of this story you're very talented, you write Aoko as an absolute BADASS WHICH I LOVE, your writing style is gorgeous, every single scene in this fic (and all your other fics) is so well written and so amazing and I hope your having a lovely day because reading this makes me so happy :D this is definitely my favourite fic️️️

I have a day off so I reread this fic and here are some points I loved :D
-Ran makes mistakes like the human she is. I'm talking about that scene where she wanted to confront armed people with Aokos face. Sure she's strong, and reckless and badass and I was EXCITED but there's more of them and they have guns. But that's one of the reasons I love her in this fic- she makes mistakes and isn't perfect I fucking love her
-"I don't think shooting is what makes an officer a good one..." -Aoko
-Akako's warning about death and blood in the beginning!?
-Aoko's cheek kiss she wanted to kiss him and so she fucking went for him I'm SO PROUD OF MY GIRL
-Shinichi and Ran making out XD
-Aoko picking locks and shooting arrows and fighting in her own way like a badass bitch
-Side stories that aren't relevant to the actual plot are so interesting! Like Yamada- who I hope rots in hell for scaring her like that when she's trying to have some normalcy in her life (school) as if her case isn't enough- and the current case which looks amazing so far!
-Kaito being the dramatic little shit that he is
-basically I love everything about your writing and I won't stop fangirling over it- my bf is messaging me but I won't reply till I post my review XD I also hope this posted like I typed it as in in note format but idk this website can be shitty when it wants to be XD
