Caught up! Alright so definitely a fun read; disliked some of it but thought it was very good for the most part.

I'll start off by saying i was a bit disappointed that it followed the game's plot so closely in regards to Sadayo's problem with the couple extorting her. I don't think it was wrong to do so, but i would have enjoyed some additional complications thrown in.

On the other hand, i thought how you portrayed the characters reacting to the situations was done quite well, and ive enjoyed all the extra dialogue you've come up with.

I personally have enjoyed the second half of this story more (or whatever you want to call the point Akira hit rank ten with Sadayo) as i've only played Persona 5, not the extended edition. If you've continued taking scenes from the game, or if they're original, i dont know, but eithed way its new to me and that makes it more interesting. Plus, i just think its more exciting in general watching the two of them navigate Akira's other friends, trying to keep them from finding out.

And this new situation with this Hana girl seems interesting, and im looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Really hoping you avoid too much angst. That said... for the life of me, i cant figure out why Akira's parents or uncle would let her know where Akira was currently living. It seems like she caused him a lot of pain before, and Akiras uncle seemed to knows this. Regretting her past actions or not, Akira made it clear to his uncle (who i assume told Akira's parents) he didn't want anything to do with her anymore. For them to turn around and give her his address when its clear he was intentionally ignoring her... it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Especially as you previously had written Akira's parents as being 100% supportive of him as the backstory. (Which, on a side note, i really liked. Akira being sent away because no local schools would accept him and thus he had to branch out makes *so* much more sense than the usual backstory; his parents refusing to believe he didnt assault Shido and exiling him is a bit too edgy and unrealistic for my tastes.)

As for the relationship itself... i dont know how realistic it is as, well, relationships between teenagers and their teachers certainly arent common or welcomed here in real life. But, the characters actions have *seemed* believable to me and true to character so i think you're doing a good job there.

All in all, it's enjoyable. And the writing has definitely improved since my first review which was great to see. Thanks for writing and i hope you get some time to update this soon!

Read through the whole thing start to finish in a few days. Easily one of my favorite stories ever! I love everything about it! Akira’s character is so well done, and Sadayo is amazing! I especially love her interactions with the other confidants like in the latest chapter. I’m really excited to see where this continues to go. Thank you for all the chapters!
Captain Ashby chapter 22 . 5/31
I’ve just binged this series, and I have to say, it is some of the best fanfiction I’ve read so far, particularly in regards to persona 5 specifically. The characters all fit their canon personalities perfectly, especially Akira, who is obviously harder to write due to being a semi-silent protagonist. A lot of writers tend to have him be extremely intelligent, but in this he really does just come across as a teenager who is out of his depth, albeit one with great charisma, quick with, and capacity for studying efficiently, but nothing at unbelievable levels. It makes him a much more relatable protagonist.

Another facet that is very well done is the continued relationship after the end of Sadayo’s confidant quests, and how she interacts with all of Akira’s other confidants. I always hated that you never saw many interactions between confidants outside of optional hangouts, and that relationships may as well be over after the confidant quests are done, but this story excels I this area.

The lack of most metaverse elements really cements this as Kawakami’s story, not Akira’s, and just how crazy the whole story must be from her perspective. Kudos, author, and to everyone who’s helped contribute to this so far.

Fullmetal11791 chapter 6 . 5/29
Like the story quite a bit, and im going to keep reading, but i wanted to mention that it seemed like the quality control on this chapter was... nonexistent.

There were a lot of dropped words, missing letters, run on sentences, and just a whole bunch of issues that didnt exist in the first five chapters. Not sure if you lost a beta, or didnt proof it, or something else... but it could do with some heavy editing.

Handsomistic1 chapter 22 . 5/21
Oh man. Last time I read this story was last year LOL. With the IRL situation the entire world is going through, I didn’t expect to get an update anytime soon or at all really. Like you mentioned P5R is out but I haven’t played it as much as I would’ve liked to; the little bit that I did play I enjoyed it a lot, especially the extra scenes with Sadayo.

Anyway I think this chapter was worth the wait. Hana doesn’t seem to bad but I wonder if she’ll be a target in Mementos; it seems like she’s slightly depressed about their past. The ‘Akira Kurusu Appreciation Club’ seems to be of all the older women in his life (so far). I think it’ll be awesome if that included the Niijimas and Haru.

Can’t wait for the aftermath of Akira’s slip of the tongue; maybe it’ll segue into revealing their relationship to the Phantom Thieves as well.

Looking forward to the next chapter.

Its been a while, but man was the wait worth it! As always character interactions are as stellar as always. Really liked the hangout between Akira and the other three/four as well as his conflict with himself on his friendship with Hana. The ending part of this chapter with Kawakami and Takemi meeting Mifune and Ohya was great, really enjoy the dynamic between the four and man the ending scene had my jaw drop at the hilarity of Akira's misunderstanding. Thanks for the chapter I look forward to reading the next update!
Withered Phoenix chapter 22 . 5/19
I absolutely loved this chapter! It was everything I expected and more. I cannot wait to see what else happens in the next update.
Cosmic Sky chapter 22 . 5/19
Last chapter I had a feeling we'd be heading into the "childhood friend" territory, and I turned out to be right, but hoo boy, was this chapter way more than that!

First and foremost, I'd say that Akira and Hana's reunion went...well, I guess. I mean, she picked one hell of a time to show up, which Akira didn't exactly hide. What stood out to me though was how calm Sadayo was throughout the whole thing, which was the best thing she could have been. Yet another detail of Akira's pre-Tokyo life has been revealed, and it's quite an interesting one. Hana and Akira's childhood does paint an interesting picture, especially in light of how the former seemed to be the more adventurous one with Akira always following after her. Then came Shido and the friendship took one hell of a dent.

Gotta say, there was something cute in Sadayo getting upset when Akira told her that Hana cut ties with him, but upon getting the full story she encouraged him to mend fences with her. It once more showed her character growth, and Akira got in on things in realizing if he didn't follow through on starting over, it'd make him a bit hypocritical.

Ahem, one thing I certainly give high-marks for is that little...kiss that happened at the end of the first quarter of the chapter. That was one hell of an unexpected steamy turn that I wish could have lasted longer. Proclaiming he has no intention of losing her then stealing away a steamy kiss that has even Sadayo wanted to go on a bit longer. I've always been fascinated with how much of the supernatural side of Akira's life could be shown to Sadayo, and it seemed for a brief moment she saw some of it. Considering how the P5 cast awoke and accepted their Shadows which were their innermost desires, I suppose Akira was letting his inner feelings show, and those feelings were his genuine but possessive love for her; rather fitting for a guy who has a bad boy image but is actually a nice guy at heart. Crossing my fingers that little scene gets a continuation, one where maybe our favorite teacher-maid has learned she doesn't have to play fair either...

Back to Hana, she's certainly hitting it off with Ryuji and Ann, and arguably Morgana, Akira's core trio. In particularly, she and Ryuji seem to be getting along real well, much to Akira's relief. It's quite fitting since with Hana back int the picture practically everyone's leaning on the "childhood friend romance" path (why do I feel like Sojiro told Akira some stories about some high school sweethearts and such), except Akira's already seeing someone. Reading him quietly struggle with that was interesting, as was the talk that he had with Ann. Looking at it, what happened between Akira and Hana kind of mirrors what Ann went through with Shiho, which is no doubt why Akira went to get some advice from her. The situations are certainly complicated and the feelings borne from them do need to be discussed and reconciled, which I'd say they have been.

It was surprising to find that Akira wasn't the only one who had a friends' night out. Sadayo and the rest of the confidant girls, or shall I say, the adult confidant girls (minus Sae)...I was not expecting that. But now that I've read the whole thing I can say I officially love the thought of Sadayo being friends with not just Tae, but Ohya, Chihaya, and of course Lala-chan! Their little get-together was hilarious! And quite full of drama as everyone admitted that they've all become smitten with Akira in some way.

All of which left Sadayo in a very...weird place, again. Here she is surrounded by women from different walks of life, most of whom she'd never have met if it weren't for Akira...who also helped them all out of their respective jams and brought out the best in them. And fell for him at some point along the way, "Akira Kurusu Appreciation Club" indeed. What made it interesting was that all of them had...eyebrow-raising interactions with Akira, one of them used him as a lab rat (her best friend by this point), one's pretend dating him (Sadayo's already uncomfortable about that) and the last one scammed him out of thousands, albeit she paid him back. All of them being brought together by Chihaya's fortune-telling was a nice touch, not to mention scratched an inch I've had for a while-Sadayo delving a bit into the paranormal aspects of Akira's life. The tarot cards was a nice discussion topic given that it really helped force everyone to open their eyes to the possibility that everything happening around Akira isn't exactly normal. And it was cute hearing Chihaya's country accent; you perfectly nailed it in writing format.

At the end of the talk, after the forming of some weird friendships, the topic of the girls get-together shows up. I can't wait to see what they talk about and where that talk leads to, hopefully some couples fluff as Sadayo unwinds a bit by Akira's side.

You're not alone in planning stories for the future. The Royal's events and characters do all pose some interesting scenarios (especially Kasumi's), albeit with ongoing stories such as this implanting them would be a tad difficult so that's best saved for another time.
