does he think she's disapointed her best friend is just Adrien or does he know she's disappointed that perfect Adrien is her dork of a best friend? I love that Adrien could read her expressions and what she means so well without her saying anything really even if it utterly broke my heart. It hurts but is also understandable because even though marinette and Adrien were getting closer and she was seeing more hints of his relaxed self she still had a bit of a idealized idea of what she knows about Adrien as a person and coupled with chat who she is very very strong and denying feelings for and who she is super comfortable around I could see her having issuese on how to feel because of her clashing ideas. marinette is sweet and creative but she isn't exactly the poster child of understand nuance for things. She tends to take things mostly at face value until proven wrong and even then marinette can be stubborn and doesn't like admitting she's wrong, finding out that her dork of a flirt partner is actually super handsome, mature and mostly reserved as a civilan clashes with the image she had of her friend and she had a lot of pride on her Adrien knowledge so finding out knowledge that contradicts(to her) her feelings and what she knows about him I could see her not being enthusiastic. plus finding out you've been rejecting the boy you claim to be your son and moon is probably something she didn't want to thnk about either. I love marinette but she isn't the greatest and empathozing with other emotions and thinking of things from their perspecive before her own(understandable as a well off onlychild with skills). whats worse it seems this situation broke his heart twice because mari and ladybug in one was disapointed in him. Adrien does have a spin and I like him cutting strait through her poor attempt at lying to him and walking away. the boy gets enough of that from other people likes his dad and such and getting that from marinette probably really sucked for him. I like that at first it was hinted that maybe Adrien was hurt but it turns out it was hunger pangs most likly which I didn't see coming. I like how marinette and her parents kept wanting to feed Adrien and Adrien's usual need to fight and work hard to be accepted by others and fit what they want seemed to have cropped up since mari' reaction which is worse because we know he was just feeling accepted and like he could be himself with her as mari and already s ladybug. its also kindof forboding and interesting that apparently Adrien will probably try to gain acceptance the only way he knows how, dieting and trying to be perfect which is somehow worse because we know that its not his looks that are the problem for marinette. though I wonder if he'll try to hide him dieting or starving from her while subconciously trying to gain her aproval like he does his dad before he doesn't want to give her the chanse to hurt him again.
