I love this fic. There's so much to like that I'm going to have to settle for giving you a few of my impressions.

I love your imagery of Lucifer in the desert—wandering lost in the desert is so biblical, isn’t it? And then to have him wandering around in circles, yikes! But I sort of wished you’d said he’d been missing for forty days, not six weeks, to make it even more biblical (well, close!) .

I was delighted to see you tackle the rebellion as an actual rebellion led by Samael (as opposed to other fics, where it’s more, “Oh, he asked a question and got cast out for that”). I hadn’t realized anyone had ever portrayed his rebellion this way! (But I’m glad I didn’t come across your fic until after I’d posted mine, so that my version of the rebellion could remain uninfluenced by yours.) I very much enjoyed reading your rebellion and seeing how you integrated it into your story. And I loved the glimpses of Hell you gave us: how Samael coped in Hell and became Lucifer and how the other angels that Samael led became demons—odd, that the series never mentions the fate of his followers. But did you mean to imply all demons are fallen angels—specifically, Maze? I would love for you to expand your version of Hell into a full-length story, if you ever get the urge.

I also loved how Hell-loops instilled in Lucifer a fascination with humans and the desire to visit Earth.

I was delighted to see you let him let loose with his anger at Dad. So many writers seem afraid to do so.

I enjoyed meeting your diffident, well-meaning Raphael. Thank goodness Lucifer didn’t listen to him in the end. But when does Lucifer listen to anybody, except Chloe (mostly)?

Chloe’s initial response disappointed me—a glare of silence—but then, the Chloe of the show occasionally disappoints me too (and never so much as in S4). And as for Lucifer’s initial thoughts about making amends, *my* initial thoughts were, “Amends? *Amends*? It’s not like you kidnapped yourself out to the desert!” But then he, of course, he falls back to his typical evasions, and they dance the dance of misunderstandings. I swear, sometimes I want to shake the two of them . But I love the moment when she strokes his forearm, and then the moment when she removes her hand and he tries to comfort himself by repeating the motion. And then still later he tries to repeat the motion to comfort her after his “wing reveal”! Lovely.

You did an excellent job with Chloe’s reaction to the “wing reveal”: panic, hysteria, halting questions (“Marching on the Silver City had been less stressful,” LOL). Also well done: her temporary catatonia with the “devil face” and his guilt over it, with his thoughts straying to the belief that it would’ve been preferable to have been left to rot in the desert (terrific line).

I also love his question, “It’s not so terrible is it? To know?”

And who can resist Chloe tending to injured Luci?

A beautifully written story. Well done, indeed

No matter what happens now, this was the only feasible choice that might lead to some sort of reconciliation.

I usually don't comment on a single chapter, but in this case it seems to me that Lucifer really needs to tell Chloe everything this time and let the chips fall where they may. I'm not saying that Raphael's advice wasn't good, but this situation is too far past the point if no return for any more ambiguity.

Very interesting story, I liked very much the interaction between Lucifer and Raphaël. Thank you for writing and sharing this.

I really liked this one, particulary liked the raging Lucifier out in the dessert.
I also really aprichiate how you use spacing when you shift the point of view.

Very nice story!

Nicely done. The descriptions and ways they filled in the characters’ mindstat were especially nice. I thought the notion that Lucifer had gone through a pergatory-like “time out” was neat. I thought it really made sense how Chloe responded: from denial to shock and finally into a slightly shaky acceptance through taking action.

I just read all of this in one go and wanted to tell you I really enjoyed reading. Thanks for sharing!
