There was a pregnant pause in which Soul rewound the last couple of seconds and realized, at the same time as Maka, exactly what he just said.

"What?"

"What?" Soul echoed, voice cracking.

ANYWAY like i said in the tags on tumblr, this is really sweet and silly and relatable and. ugh. just a really fun read, and it warms my heart and uuuug they love each other so much, adorable. pure content. also black*star is the worst and soul is the real mvp here.
