What is this? Wait so Sayu is able to do things that not even light could do. Look at how much of a pussy Ryuk is. So Sayu is able to develop relationships with Ryuk. It is clearly(IDGAF, what you say) more op than Light even is. Like I know she has huge prep, but the things that do not even require prep time she is better than light at. Sayu is actually op, her character is inconsistent with her age and she is clearly shown as superior to light. But then again even with prep time she still acts like a retard. Killing all the mafia members when you were the only witness, this actually instant gg for L. So Sayu is supposed to be this god-like op figure that is better than Light even without prep. Like bruh, nerf Sayu she is so op and so stupid(I mean that as she actually suffers from severe mental retardation). Godlike Sayu is worst Sayu. Loli Sayu is best Sayu, and also why Sayu much smarter than she would be. Don't take what I just said seriously pls. But this still begs the question can LightL working together beat op godlike Sayu

Did they find her cellphone somewhere between her and her bike? Also, what must her friend be thinking, hearing an explosion over the phone? Or did she hang up before leaving the house? It’s not quite clear what she does with her phone, and that could greatly affect how suspicious she is after she wakes up. If her phone was still on it explains why she was it of bed if she left it in the house and it got blown up it’s really suspicious bc megumi likely wouldn’t have gotten help and might have died of blood loss unless Takeshi finally woke a neighbor or something or called an ambulance? And then she loses her alibi for leaving right before an explosion. Also, if the explosion was caused by her rigging the death note in a drawer like light in canon and someone tried to steal it (I don’t remember you saying she rigged it but she mentioned needing to so you may have had her do it off screen?) then there’s the added suspicion of why she had plastic explosives rigged in her room. I’m also kind of worried about the rest of the yagamis, if they got hurt in the explosion.
In other words this whole rant boils down to you’ve gotten me invested and now I’m curious. Congrats for a very well written story. Thanks for writing and sharing it with the world! -

I just finished reading up to the last posted chapter on AO3 and came here looking for more :( I didn’t find any more chaps but saw flames instead:(( whyy although I agree that there are other well written sayu/oc insert this story is actually better than some also.. just saying that I liked it and would like to read more:)

I have mixed feelings about this fic. I really like premise and the world building if this fic, light's character development is quite refreshing and it's really neat seeing Sayu's take on Kira.

That said there was a point in this story that really detracts and jarrs from the story as a whole. The part where Sayu is irritatingly obtuse. She's a grown adult in a child's body, has the forethought to use her future knowledge of robotics to her and Light's advantage, is the daughter of the chief of police, is responsible enough to go to a concert at '15' and yet somehow can't see a warning flag that's literally spelled out to or inform the proper authorities right away?

That part of the story really made me go 'wtf is she stupid, a child or just an asshole?' If this meant to be a character flaw it worked great as I'm pretty disappointed in Sayu not doing the most obvious thing that would be pretty easy for her to do with her connections.

The only reason I can think you wrote her reaction that way is so the plot can move forward, but by writing it that way it really detracts from her motivation for believing that world is rotten as Sayu inactions contributed as much to the fallout of what happened at the concert as much as Ken and his gang did.

You could even say Light would not be in a wheelchair if she had just got police protection or told he dad about what she saw at the concert. Even telling Light, so that Mr genius knew what was up would have been something as he would have had some head up of what he was getting into.

This was great! She is smart but at the same time she isnt genius like Kira, and makes some mistakes he wouldnt have done had he had the knowledge she has. ALso will L ever come to japan, will Light ever find out she is Kira? And is that second Kira entering the story? This story is just very fun. I wonder what happened there at the end, did she get run over by a bike or a car? Or is it something supernatural...I cant wait to find out.

Yeah I was confused this chapter because! Not only is her father the chief of police but Light is her brother...they could help her definitely. ANd the fact she didnt help someone getting beat up in an alley...I hate people who do that, I had a friend who was stabbed and he had to walk 3 blocks home because no one would open the door to him! good thing she has a conscious and understands that what she did was wrong and I can't wait to read how she will grow from this and use the death note!

while I was confused at some parts and didn't know at all what was happening at the end scene with the glowing ball or whatever I did like this chapter! also, more importantly, I am soooooo glad you updated!
honestly lately I am finding so many of some of the best fanfics out there not updating for months if not a whole year and am despairing at the thought of them being discontinued! so even if it took a while I am so happy this one was updated even if it takes a long time for the next chp!
