Awww... this is so tragic. You really have a haunting way with words and I appreciate the way you wrote this fic out a lot. The concept is interesting and something I feel could be explored further - Newt being used for his ability to help animals, if possibly even against his will. I love the concept, even if the fic was sad and wrenched my heart in my chest. Thank you for writing it!

He's utterly perfect here. The one thing that makes him lose his cool is a hurt/suffering/dying animal and you showed the change perfectly. You really set the scene, the descriptions were excellent!

I have never read this plot before, it was very original and well thought out. There was nothing wrong with the flow. It was set at a good pace and the dialogue was great. I feel that Newt's main injury (the abduction) should have been the injury you were tasked to write, rather than have the injury as a smaller, later one in the fic. Though I like how you did incorporate it - it was a very original way of using it.

I adored this fic. Well, apart from when Apricot died. That hurt my heart so much. Poor Newt though, he would have been devastated. I loved this story and how you portrayed the characters. You're the only person I know who writes Newt and you do so well. The plot was original, the way the characters acted was perfect and I can't point out anything I didn't enjoy about the fic. Great work.

Hey so this is one of the very few FB fics I have read, but I love the way you crafted this fic. It was a beautiful flowing piece and your characterisations of the American wizards, I thought, was spot on. Newt, as always, is a literal babe and my heart just lifts when I read him written so well. I thought this was a lovely plot and beautiful read. I look forward to reading more FB in the future xx

So, this is the first Fantastic Beast's fic I've ever read. It won't be the last. I love it!
I love the way you wrote Newt, he seemed exactly as I remember him from the movie, and I felt so sorry for him.
Also, can I just say that you have my undying love for calling a Unicorn Apricot. Just... that is everything.
I really liked the way you included Graves (the original) and Tina coming to save him, and his reaction to losing Apricot was heartbreakingly perfect.

You write Newt so well. I am seriously in awe. Everything was perfect. From his dialogue to his emotions and mannerisms. It was all on point. When I read, I actually heard Eddie's voice with Newt's dialogue.

I loved the premise of this story so much. It was so original. I've read of creatures being sold in a wizarding black market but having Newt captured like that to fix a dying unicorn.

His tenderness with the unicorn was so sweet. And his rage when he was freed and the unicorn didn't make it... Gah, Jenny, it's not nice to hurt my heart like this.

This fic was just absolutely perfect in my eyes. I love it. I love you. Beautiful work

This was so sweet oh my god! Like my heart was literally breaking along with Newt's because of how sweet he was and how much he clearly cared for Apricot and how distraught he was that he couldn't save her.

With the way you wrote the man speaking, I couldn't help but compare him to Hagrid and I was so shook to imagine Hagrid behaving that way. I know it wasn't, but because of the speech pattern, my brain automatically made the connection.

You did well with him, though. Like he was such a clearly contrasting character to Newt that it really created a good dynamic for the fic.

Then Tina and Graves rushing in to rescue him, of course. I loved the Grindelwald thought, too. Like I don't read any FB fics or really think about it too much, but obviously, after the whole Graves/Grindelwald thing, people are gonna be shook by the real Graves.

I was really hoping there would be something they could do for Apricot when Newt was saved, but alas, she died too soon D:

This is the first FBAWTFT fic I've ever read actually and I thought you wrote Newt wonderfully well. Not just that but the language choices and way you brought the American wizards across was just like how I imagine them.

Just fantastic characterisation really and a poignant, bittersweet fic that fits perfectly in this section of the fandom that I hadn't considered before. Thank you for opening my eyes to this new branch of the HP universe, I loved this.

Aww, this was somehow both adorable and heartbreaking :') Apricot and Newt's interactions were adorable, and the way you wrote Newt's heartache at knowing he couldn't save the unicorn foal was beautifully wonderful. I think you did an amazing job on characterizations too - Newt was perfect, and I love the idea that Tina can't shut up about him :p
Your writing was beautiful and it worked very well with your plot and characters. I love this, and I wish Newt had somehow managed to save the foal (also, Apricot is the perfect name :p) The scene where he feeds it his apple was gorgeous - it almost made me cry.

Oh, I love this! Poor, poor Apricot, though. He should have brought her into his briefcase! This was such a wonderful, and sad read, and I absolutely loved it! You had a wonderful flow, and the SPaG was amazing! This was a highly enjoyable original piece that I would love to read more and more of! Great job on opening up Newt's world, and oh, those sweet words from Tina. Keep up the amazing work!

Oh, my little heart. Why does everyone keep breaking my little heart? At first I was very excited because it's Fantastic Beasts and I love Fantastic Beasts but then it got dark! Poor little Newt, not only because he was captured but because he had to watch that beautiful little creature die! Poor little Apricot, I wish there could have been some hope for her but at least she had someone who cared for her in the end.
I really liked the way that you wrote this, I especially liked the way you wrote the speech, keeping it authentic. I don't really have anything to conceit either. The story was well written and flowed smoothly between scenes. I'd have liked a little more back story I suppose, how Newt ended up there but I didn't spot any SPaG mistakes.

please don't be disappointed in me and block me, but i've only seen fb once, when it first came out, like almost a year ago, and all i remember is the rain and jacob and queenie and tina and EDDIE REDMAYNE so yeah. oh, and johnny depp. idek who graves is. i really need to rewatch this

I loved Newt in this. All caring and kind and beautiful towards the unicorn and devastated when she died. I would be too. Unicorns are so precious. And that man reminds me of today's society. People care about making money off animals with little care for their wellbeing or the fact that they actually feel pain.

I thought you captured Newt's love for creatures here wonderfully. Bless him.

Thank you for avoiding all of those evil Newt cliches. I'm getting a bit tired of reading about him having warped ideas of what's dangerous, and you haven't done that at all. You get my applause just for that.
