Yess Ainz going to kick Elders Ass

Thankfully after a rather shitty day I had, this got updated to help cheer me up, so let's get into this. :)

I was pleased to see everyone came back all the better from their little tour of the ship. Even if Alice let slip the beans about becoming an honorary ARKS. Although that made them sweat for a bit, Ainz's reasoning for not pressing for details made complete sense, and was in-character for him. That worked out well for all involved. But before they could come up with some sort of definitive plan for how ARKS is to help the NW, trouble strikes. I swear, Darkers are like interstellar cockroaches. You can't seem to be rid of them, and they crop up when you least expect them. Regardless, it was cool seeing ARKS sortie out to action, even if Ainz didn't go with them. Which turned out to be a good thing (more on that later). ;)

No surprise that the invading Darkers were actually stronger than what the regular ARKS would be used to. I mean, Elder has been on the NW, getting empowered through a NUMBER of ways. So yeah, "uphill battle" is quite apt here. Like Ryu, I also found it interesting that his group's Photon Arts/Techs didn't "depower" once they left the NW. Hmm... Maybe it has something to do with the more "magical" nature of the NW's atmosphere, since the absorb ambient photons from their environment... Well, regardless of reason, it came in handy, given the numbers/strength of the Darkers. And whoa! Lily's swords from her "bonedaddy" sure were something! Since Ainz implied they belonged to one of his friends in the guild, I'd bet good money that they're [Divine Class] weapons. Hehe. Oh, yeah Lily better thank him! :P

After some shenanigans with Darkers, and some hilarious comedy with Mel-Rose and Guardian, the "main" event finally arrived. Freaking Elder shows up, and is more powerful than ever! If he wasn't so single-minded about a good fight, I'd swear he planned that whole thing, where Guardian and the rest wasted their strength before facing him. And then subsequently getting KO'ed as a group. Here was the part where I expected him to warp away again after giving his very Cell-esque "Get stronger" antag speech, but NOPE! LOL! Honestly, despite the cliffhanger nature of that ending, I was actually quite excited to see Ainz spring his own trap on Elder like that. And hell yeah he's got a score to settle! No one harms Lily and goes to bed happy. I'll be rooting for him in this fight! ;)

All in all, this chapter was quite entertain and exciting! it had plenty of action and surprises for us readers, which is always welcomed. So then, how to rate this one? Hmm... I normally deduct points for cliffhangers, but that ending was badass enough to where I just got to give this one a 9/10. :)

The fight was really awesome and thrilling, for a moment when i saw everyone showing up using their best weapon mods and buff after buff, i thought thye would actually win since elder had fought against guardian in its elder form. However they still lost. And even though i am happyp to see Aizy finally get in the battle, its a shame to see him fight Elder in its weakaned form but hey! Its not underhanded tactic right? its only natural to strike when the enemy is weaker XD

I love it when things go boom!

I am also glad that you've managed to keep to your schedule, so let's get into it. :)

I love Alice's introspection at the beginning. It's very relatable and understandable, given the crazy events she's been through. None-the-least of which, traveling through freaking space in a refurbished spacecraft! LOL! Anyone from the NW would be on the verge of losing it. Also... LMAO~! WOW! Frakking Pandora's Actor! He's among my fav' NPCs of Nazarick with his quirks. Including using Ainz's voice like an airliner message system. Hah! I love it! Well, Ainz's embarrassment didn't last long, once they reached the ship. Now THAT'S where things were getting really interesting. ;)

Ainz meeting Xiera, touring the spaceship/city-state, and having a grand ol' time of it was entertaining and exciting in its own right. Honestly, this was so different and enjoyable from other fanfics that I couldn't help but wanting more. Heh. Especially when Ainz's "Luck" was on full display here, and his reactions to this were freaking great. Again, I found myself wanting more. Seabs did a great job adhering to his orders. You barely saw mention of him. Oh! Glad that it was him instead of Albedo and/or Shalltear with him. They would have lost their minds when Ainz was led by the hand by Guardian to a pop-idol concert. It was so innocent and wholesome. It gave me a sister/brother vibe. Huh... Now that's an idea...

Anyways! We go back to Ryu and Hikaru, who were getting some "upgrades" to their ARKS powers and abilities. And I love the banter between them, so another bonus there. Of course, the REAL surprise came when Alice asked to become an ARKS! I mean, perhaps we should have expected this after recent events, but still an awesome detail to be sure. With this upgrade, she can FINALLY hang shoulder-to-shoulder with Ryu and the rest. Now I'm curious as to just HOW much stronger she is now. Dang it! This chapter didn't end on a cliffhanger, but it sure feels like it when you are felt wanting to know more. :P

Anywho, all in all this was quite the enjoyable chapter, with plenty of surprises for us readers. Goes to show when a chapter to entertain and enthrall without the need for action, drama, and/or suspense. So this one gets an 8.5/10 from me. ;)

I sort of wondered if the catapult machine was Guardian's way of paying back Ainz for opening gates in mid air without telling them before they walked through. But something like that devices probably wouldn't bother Ainz, so if it was a prank by not warning him, it failed. hehe.

Interesting that Sebas has gone unnoticed by the female populace. He was fairly admired as a dignified, handsome old man on New World by some of the women in the Kingdom, though i guess things are different here.

Yep, Ainz' luck is through the roof, well that or his intelligence stat, not sure which, but with Overlord's underlying comedic elements, its probably luck. I wonder what the heck he's gonna do with that blade. Guardian is lucky none of the female guardians were around to see her actually holding his hand, there was something weirdly wholesome about that.

So Alice has high photon aptitude, eh? Well either she's a special case or all New Worlders could have equal or greater aptitude, which would mean even the average joe lazy ass nobody could in theory level enough to damn near rival a decently skilled player from Yggdrasil. If that's the case and Ainz finds out, he may end up having to join ARKs himself just to keep ahead of the game. Of course if he and his NPCs have no phoon aptitude, they're gonna get left in the dust, lol. But hey, he was always one to say life is unfair.

Though honestly, while I could see a reason NPCs couldn't get ARKS skills, players might be a different matter. Well, whatever the case, I'm certainly interested in what you plan to do with that side of things, and its not so bad since he still has the skills from the photon disks Ryu game him, in fact they'd make a good medium for Ainz and his bunch to learn Martial Arts. If a martial art can be put to disk form, then that should make the martial art accessible to Nazarick denizens.

It would be cool if Ainz could make a genuine friend among ARKS. I suppose Ryu does count, though he's also kind of in a strange situation with Lily right now. The thing is, I always kind of hoped Neia would be Ainz' friend, but she went kind of crazy after her revival. There was also Keno, but sadly that's the side story. For some reason I love Ainz when he's just chilling with someone who is interacting with him in a way that isn't fear, reverence or wariness.

I wonder if Ainz will be allowed to buy a bunch of different gadgets, techs and other stuff to take back with him as collectables, after all he is quite the collector and loves owning at least one of anything even remotely interesting. Pity he hasn't got his runecraft business iea yet, it'd have been hilarious if he'd starting shilling for runecraft. Actually that's a cool thought, could non-magic technology be even further enhanced through runecraft? Since a lot of runecraft knowledge has been lost over the years, its not what it used to be, but still, at least it seems Nazarick fused magic with the ship, so its plausible at least.

This has been a real fun chapter, nice and light-hearted. I also had a laugh at Guardian trying to get out of escort duty, it reminded me of Ainz wanting to get out of doing his paperwork after becoming the Sorcerer King. I kind of see why there's signs he and Guardian are starting to get along, particularly after his "Test" of her perception of NPC-like lifeforms. I could almost imagine the pair of them getting some tedious task and just dumping it off on someone else or just sneaking away via teleportation, kind of like "Pst, hey Ainz, think you can teleport us out of her while they're not looking." hehehe.

Ainz with ark abilities, a new increase in power for our supreme being, imagining the possibilities excites me, is there something similar to combat arenas in arks? I would like to see something similar to the events of volume 10, sasuga Ainz-sama his luck knows no limits.
