I feel like Ophelia wants Marco either as a move of power. Or because he's the first guy he's met to deny, ignore, or belittle or moves and it's intrigued and infatuated her

Honestly when the Marco and Ophelia scene happened I had a look of internal digust. If you were trying to help paint a picture of who she really is, congrats you've succeeded

Finally getting around to reading this somewhat hidden gem. I've seen it around since about chapter 7 but just haven't had the time or the emotional investment to trade the story at the time. But I'm glad I am now. Really like how it's shaping up to be so far.
