You've killed me. This was beautiful and so so sad! You are such a good writer! And this story in particular seemed so poetic! I especially loved the line about how he let's go and let's go and let's go and wonders whether he'll let go of himself in the process.

I wish for Coran to have more screen time... Oh well, least there are fics like this! I very much enjoyed reading this possible backstory for him. The comparisons between his old and new family are wonderful, and I love the line near the end about new and old being unable to come together.

Coran is one of my favorite (and very underrated, dios) characters in the series and I love seeing the different kind of backstories. I both love and hate the idea of him having a family because if he had one then they are all gone now (and terrible job by the show showing the pain of that loss) and that pain never truly goes away. You will always see them in others, just like you showed and I loved how you picked apart different traits that of the team that his own children and wife had. Your detail with their eyes and hair and just that gorgeous imagery was beautifully done.
What really made me tear up though was the very end with all the things they could have done and that darn leaky engine room made my eyes spring a leak because it's just so... so Coran and it makes my heart hurt.
