Reviews for Authors Of Our Own Fate
Helios7406 chapter 45 . 22h
Screw Robert, let him live out his days in his gilded and silent tomb. You really flesh out the things about Robert I really disliked on the show, he was genuinely kind most of the time but it wasn't enough to make up for the rest of the nonsense he got up to.
Lila chapter 52 . 7/27
I really enjoy this story and have been reading it for a while now :)
However, as a historical fashion enthusiast, I have to tell you that there is NO WAY Sybil would be wearing a knee-lenght skirt, especially not one the Dowager Countess of Grantham would approve of!
Other than that keep up the great work, I am very excited to see Robert's attempts.
Guest chapter 52 . 7/26
If I were Mosley, I'd think there was something going on between Sybil and Matthew! I adore the way you write thre Matthew/ Sybil interactions! I don't know why Sybil is nervous about this, Matthew should be worried about what Mary might do to HIM! Robert should fear this very fearless Sybil, not to mention Jane (I anticipated it would be her). What way to end a chapter! . Not that I want you to bump off Robert anytime soon, but I hope this story goes on into the time whe Matthew is Earl, because I've always wanted to read about that.
Such an excellent plot bunny. I think I may start a telethon or a review a thon to get them adopted
cowherderess chapter 52 . 7/26
This story is quite a wild ride, but I have really enjoyed reading it all these past few days! I am looking forward to seeing how it goes with Sybil and Matthew in charge at the convalescent home. I hope Robert really is remorseful and that Jane doesn't complicate things too much. It would be nice for the family to be reunited at long last, because they were once so happy (though I can totally see how Robert's stubborn naiveté about the war in season 2 would translate to this sort of reaction to Matthew's staying away from the front, so it shouldn't be *too* easy).
OracleGoddessOfDelphi chapter 52 . 7/23
Aren't skirts supposed to be like shin-length, at least?
Gary chapter 52 . 7/22
Good chapter as usual. Will you make Moseley into a teacher eventually. I thought it fit him well. That plot bunny is great. I've read one where Tom inherited a great house in Ireland, but this bit about being Found out by Rose and Shrimpie is wonderful. That bit about Daisy is perfect.
Isla de Thera chapter 16 . 7/22
I think the most radical change of cannon is Bates becoming a murderer. Im not sure if I like it, bit I give the story a try...
Isla de Thera chapter 9 . 7/21
Nice talk with EDITH.
Isla de Thera chapter 6 . 7/21
My mind blowed up with the plot twist! Great story!
steampunkunicorn chapter 52 . 7/21
I love the Tom-centric plot bunnies. And the idea of him becoming our lovable Irish commie rogue after being raised as a Marquess is delightfully hilarious. Oh, and the potential for angst in our beloved Tom and Sybil romance is positively delicious!
Daisyangel chapter 52 . 7/21
Oh this plot bunny could be fun. lol
Guest chapter 52 . 7/21
Jane Moorsum? But as Sybil's assistant? Will there be any Robert/Jane this time?
Bertie Pelham as Thomas Barrow's assistant? Just coincidence or something in store here too?
Is Robert truly contrite & apologetic OR just a move to get his family back?
Lillian? The way you describe her and her personality. Like an air of mystery about her. What is her real purpose? She definitely altered the timeline.
Anonymous chapter 52 . 7/20
Love the chapter! Can't wait for the confrontation between Robert and Sybil considering he's a little afraid of his own daughter. Ha! And tbh, I really wish someone would write that particular plot bunny. Like I haven't found any good stories where Tom is a noble. Here's to hoping and waiting.
srhittson chapter 52 . 7/20
This was a really good chapter. I can’t wait for the next chapter.
Shrike176 chapter 52 . 7/20
Fun chapter, lot of build up to Matthew and Sybil going back to Downton, you write these two so well together. :)

On the Jane situation, I have to wonder. On one hand, Robert is desperate to make things right with his family, but he had an affair the first time because he felt useless and left out, especially with Cora... and that is what he is likely feeling now.

Also, noted the reference to Mr. Pelham here, while no one knows he is the one Edith wound up marrying, curious to see what they make of him this time around.

Great plot bunny as always, and I appreciate the dig at Daisy, those are always funny.

Great work as always, looking forward to more.
