So happy to see you've updated. It was a while that I read your fic, and didn't remember these last few chapters. Looks like Evan and Hermione are getting along well, but I still don't see her getting married either. As for Tom, he's definitely grown up and his ambitions grew with him. Cannot wait for your next update :)

To be honest... I was a good kid. Spent most of my time playing a computer game for 12yrs. I didn't start drinking until I was actually 22 lol. I'm almost 25 now, so I guess it's only been a few years xD

I can't see that Hermione is left as the second option. And much less for a child, as if she were a stepmother, I think that even if she taked care for the child, that would degrade her a lot which would not be consistent with her values as an independent woman.

So basically I just read a fantastic history of 17 chapters in a single day, and I can only say that it is one of the best stories I read and it is not even complete. I love that Hermione values will not change, despite all the things.
I must say, that although I love a good and nice Tom Riddle that with the power of love is saved, the sociopathic Tom you wrote is incredible and I adore him. The manipulation and brilliance with which you describe him is admirable and together with the Lestrange brothers they are the gem, the fact that they stay so close to the canon, I think it makes them the true diamonds of th story. The fact that Rodolphus feels that ambiguity for Hermione is magnificent. Realistically, she is a Mudblood and her daughter. He totures and loves her. It is absolutely perfect.
Now, as a whim, I would like to see Tom and Hermione much more, how their relationship is progressing despite Tom being engaged with Walburga (I hate it, Tom how could you?), and as much as I like Evan, I don't think Hermione ends up feeling happy with him. I don't know if she will be happy with Tom if you ever write them togheter and this ends as a Tomione :) but I feel they have much more un common and she can control him a little because Hermione said ir, without him she can't do to much.
With nothing more to say, I appreciate that you wrote this wonder and I apologize if I did not know how to explain something (English is not my first language).

The line "Tom's weird fixation on appearance be damned" made me think. I bet for Tom, appearance is everything to him since he's had to fit in a world that he wasn't born in. His handsome face, his immaculate robes— his appearance is crucial to his identity. However, to Hermione, her appearance doesn't matter that much to her. I think Tom misinterprets her confidence of appearance for privilege and self-assurance, which I think he resents a bit. I love this dynamic, however, please tell me if I'm looking too deeply into it lol
