I dig it. The only parts I didn't like were the perving on dead guy's mom, and the relationship angst.

Crap, traveling together makes it WORSE. If they travel apart, he could always use the excuse that "I saw things out there, things that changed me, who I am, who I want to be."

As to dead guy, well, we've got one chapter so far, so I can't speculate much. Fics that go it the nice way usually stage a fatal accident of some sort, leaving the body for the new occupant.

Your chapter length is good, but doesn't fall into the pit of STATS MADNESS. I've seen some gamer fics where they literally trade off chapters with stats rehashes.

Like I can totally understand an author keeping a notepad file with stats, that makes sense. But it's a little too making sausage for me as a reader. As long as the character keeps leveling and getting stronger, I don't need a blow by blow "user got points for successfully cleaning up after they pooped" level insight.

I do love a good observe abuse fic though. Always great when you can just read a person before you even talk to them.

I look forward to reading more. One thing about Gamer/Pokémon crossovers is the Gamer system only helps the main character. His physical and mental abilities will grow quickly, and his Aura abilities give it something to work on. Adding the trainer and breeder potential stats is an interesting twist. Perhaps some of his downtime waiting on contests could be spent in the library absorbing books?

I've read a Harry Potter gamer story that makes extensive use of the Party System. Perhaps that would allow his on hand Pokémon (or all of them depending on the limit to his party size, though at minimum his on hand partners should be included) to also make use of Gamer style grinding during training. They can increase their stats far beyond the norm for their species, possibly learn and master new moves sooner, and just use battle experience for evolution. It would allow them to surpass the limitations of their current form before they evolve, at which point their strength grows exponentially. Consider Ash's Bulbasaur and Squirtle who refused to evolve, but grew strong enough to defeat their evolved forms. Take that strength, ramp it up Gamer style (or just reach it faster), then evolve. For every evolution, on every Pokémon he has. Broken as hell (which is what makes Gamer so fun).

Taking advantage of that just might cause his trainer and breeder potential stats to explode with growth.

Good Shit. I like the concept of having stats that relate specifically to Pokemon training, it makes sense cause otherwise the MC would end up being crazy strong really fast. It'll be interesting to see what kind of build the SI decides to go for and what team he makes.

It seems really interesting, the pokemon world plus the gamer ability with a SI. What I like more is that he is curious about this new life, the ability, the fact that pokemon exist. Honestly it's like a dream come true. The Aura thing is also a plus because it explains a lot. He seems to be taking this change very well, will he have a break down when he realises he stole someone's life and left his behind for good? I wonder...
