This could be the start of a longer cracky story. I've always thought that Petunia and Snape had exactly the same personality. Just imagine them married. Imagine Dudders, the boy who lived with a dark mark scar on his forehead. The magical world would take one look at their savior, and think "We're doomed. Time to emigrate to the antipodes." He would be exactly as bad as the Dursleys ever claimed Harry was, and magical.

It's a really, really nice one shot ! I'm not english native speaker and I don't write well but I would like to say that I really enjoy this story ! It's very nice, different and inusual to see Petunia as a witch and not Lily ! I really wonder what will happen after for Petunia and Severus (did the Marauder will leave him in peace ? James Potte will not met Lily this time so maybe he'll be indifferent to Severus ?)

One of my fav things is to imagine Petunia as a witch and not Lily. So many things would have been different!

That was sweet. I think the order in the family would've made a huge difference - having the younger sister with the special power would really get up the older sister's nose. But the older sister here can afford to be kind to her little muggle sis. Can't say I've ever seen swang used instead of swung though! And you've just got a 'fo' instead of 'of' 6 lines from the bottom. XX

Actually, I always wanted that JKR would discover some magic in Petunia. It would dramatically change the course of the storry.

Now that was a surprising plot twist... but the possibilities it would open!

If Harry were Petunia's son, and was sent to live with Lily, who by all accounts would be the kind woman she has been portrayed as. Would that affect Harry's sorting? I could imagine him being raised to fit well in any house but Slytherin, because really - I don't see either Lily nor well-loved Harry fitting in there. And which house would Petunia have been?

Hell, Harry could still be Lily's son even if she was muggle, and been a muggleborn himself. Where that would have put him in the prophecy is anybody's guess.

I am curious if you come to make something of this!

Aww, cute! It also brings up an interesting point. If magic is based so heavily on belief, then I wonder if he had told them they both had magic, if they both would have developed it.

Short, but sweet. Really makes me wonder how the whole story would have been changed had Petunia been the with instead of Lily... I assume a lot of drama being prevented, and a lot of other drama being introduced, haha.
A really cool idea, though I admit I would have loved a few more peaks into the future of what could have been... ;)

Did I miss Petunia's house by the way or did you never mention it? I do wonder which one would be the best fit for her... :)
