I love the dynamic of Harry and Ginny being friends while they're both aware Ginny has a crush on him. In canon, Harry never actually made a big deal out of it, so it's very in-character for him, and now that Ginny is working through her awkwardness. (And from a shipping perspective, it's kinda cute. I love how Harry has gotten in the habit of trying to make her feel better about it by acting like he didn't notice.)

Very enjoyable. Thanks for posting. I especially like the interactions between Harry and Ginny. You do a good job with writing banter that feels true to the characters and toes the line of flirty/being innocent wit. Looking forward to more!

Well, you don't have to continue any story unless you enjoy it. For myself, though, I quite like reading Ginny's interactions with everyone. She really does fit right in; it's a crying shame that JKR didn't make her a full protagonist in fourth or fifth year.

Just found this story. Enjoyed it so far but hope to see Harry and Ginny getting closer then just friends. I find it hard to see Harry still crushing on cho after spending so much time around Ginny.

The altered handling of Barty Crouch on the Map is quite interesting. I'm not entirely sure why Harry didn't hit the trick step this time and lose the Map, though?

Ginny's reaction to Sirius being brought up the second time is perhaps too strong. She had already been told that Sirius Black was an Animagus, so for Harry to say "I should have learned to be an Animagus like Sirius" would be odd but not necessarily imply that they're in contact.

Ginny is a great character, on the precious few occasions JKR deigned to let her actually appear. She understands both Ron and Hermione in ways that Harry doesn't, and she has the right sense of humour for Harry to enjoy her company. You've done a great job of depicting how her evening with Harry could realistically have gone.

What a wonderful take on the what if! I love that Ginny is included in what’s going on but not necessarily saving the day like in a lot of other AUs, where things just get better because of Ginny’s inclusion. The slow burn with this also so real. Imagine Harry thinking she’s cute! How embarrassing for him! It’s so interesting to think that he likes her so much that he helps her through her debilitating crush and while still knowing she has a crush, still wants to be friends. It’s such a lovely take on Harry, but feels very real considering how few friends he has and how surprised he constantly is by people trying g to help him or actually caring for him. It’s also so Harry to never bring it up, not just because it’d be painfully awkward for him, but because out of everyone he understand what it feels to be utterly humiliated. Even if it was never about a crush, I’m sure he can relate to that feeling from having to go to school with Dudley. I hope we continue to see the rest of the year. Amazing how much ground you covered in just 4 chapters. The third task is just around the corner, and so is the mystery getting solved. That’s the part I’m most curious about. How would having a 3rd person in on all the clues affect its unraveling? Hopefully we find out in the future! Hope you continue this story!
