Reviews for A Darker Shade of Red
weirdhead chapter 1 . 6/19
Ron can be a Slytherin without befriending Draco Malfoy. I find your story is amazing.

That was amazing. Oddly enough it was very in character and believable. I would love to see more.
wingofpain chapter 1 . 3/8/2018
I liked it; a pity about the dark ending even if it made sense.
Robin Lynn Smith chapter 1 . 2/24/2018
I don't think I've ever read a Slytherin Ron story. This was great! Well done.

I loved your take. How circumstances forced Ron into everything, still he retained his inherent goodness till the end. It somehow felt too in character for both Ron and Draco, though I believe had such a situation occurred, the Weasleys would have been more supportive. Yet, with your take, this was a very well written story.
Kudos.
Thanks for sharing.

Wonder if you read 'Red Knight' since that story also has Ron sorted into Slytherin even with the context being entirely different (and he's not friend with Draco). But it's kind of sad most Harry Potter story just use Ron as a easy punching bag antagonist whenever the author wants to pair Hermione with someone else. It's nice to see the red headed stepchild of the Trio get some genuinely deep emotional writing even with the tragic ending.

I already feel the Griffinderps are a bunch of obnoxious fuckwits even if I only watched the first movie (at which point I got so angry with Most Esteemed Headmaster Bumblebee's blatant favoritism towards the Griffinderps and his boytoy Mary Sue Potter I boycotted the entire franchise), but damn do they acts as a bunch of hypocritical c-*Skeleton Warriors~*ts in this story. It's nice to see Hermione is still the only voice of reason.

The ending is really bittersweet where Ron finally find the courage to oppose Death Eaters, and Draco also find the courage to mercy kill him when he's being tortured. I feel like if this story continues after Ron's death, Draco would defect anytime afterwards now he's forced to kill his best friends. Maybe I'm just being a sentimental idiot, but a good and emotional one-shot indeed. Would be nice if in the end Draco tells other Ron died a hero and the rest of the Weasley family finally realize what a bunch of judgemental hypocritical c-*skeleton warriors~*ts they been.
