Such Misfortune
Guest chapter 15 . 7/23/2019
You know, I would love to see Musujime and Himegami have a conversation.

Musujime has to be one of my least favorite characters in the entire franchise from the moment I finished volume 8 of the novel, because she's a complete idiot that keeps angsting about stupid things. Her motivation, her end goal, and her methodology are all complete nonsense. Her entire motivation lies in the notion that powers hurting people. Somehow she reaches the insane conclusion that she wants to prove esper powers can be given to non-humans and that humans shouldn't necessarily be the ones to have powers (which has nothing to do with powers being used to hurt people). Then in order to achieve her objective, she goes around hurting people (ex. Kuroko, her own comrades used as a shield) (which goes against her motivation in the first place).

Compare her to Himegami, who is an actual tragic figure. She's a gemstone, which meant that she didn't choose to have her power (unlike Musujime who knowingly went through the power curriculum program). Her power is passive, and can't be turned off (except by magic), and constantly lure and kills those around her (unlike Musujime whose abilities are active, so she could've chosen to stop using them at any time. If she was so damn afraid of her power hurting people, she could've decided never to use it again). And because of this, she was imprisoned in the cram school and implied to have had terrible things happen to her (before Izzard showed up). Despite all of this, Himegami's solution was to work with a force outside of science (magic) in order to use her power to save someone, rather than kill someone. In order to achieve this, she does not hurt anyone, and tries to protect others (injured student after the gregorian chant replica, Touma (which she sacrifices her life for)).

Musujime is essentially Himegami, but with complete lack of logic. She's the spoiled rich kid who is crying about the fact that her silver spoon doesn't taste like chocolate, while a poor kid is scrounging for food in a garbage can next to her. Imagine what kind of smackdown Himegami could lay down on her just via her own existence. (Himegami is far too nice to verbally dunk on someone, but even telling Musujime about Himegami's life story should be a god damn wake up call for Musujime about how pretentious she is being with her 'problems')
Guest chapter 6 . 7/23/2019
Minor note: Maika is known to skip honorifics (ex. calling misaka mikoto 'misaka'), which is pointed out by Misaka as being very un-maid like (and theorizes that it'll get her into trouble if she actually wants a job as a maid). Furthermore, she calls people onii-chan (older brother), including Kamijou (which leads to Motoharu fighting Touma and Aogami in a classic delta force nonsense). So all in all, she's not very likely to call him Kamijou-san.

Another minor point: Yomikawa's a teacher who works in anti-skill, not judgement. So Uiharu shouldn't be calling her a 'senpai'. If anything she'd be called 'sensei' b/c she's a teacher (though not her teacher).

Final minor point: Saten shouldn't call Touma 'Touma' immediately. Calling someone by given name is sign of familiarity, and Saten has just met this guy for the 3rd time in her life. Hell, she calls her best friend Uiharu by her family name, rather than her given name (Kazari), so it's a pretty big stretch. Only reason Touma's name is more familiar is because Index calls him Touma (probably due to their closeness, since she calls him that after he saved her life)

Actually, why are they looking for Touma? It's not as if judgement resources/time can be used for idle curiosities and rumors (even though half the damn rumors in this universe are 100% correct).
Guest chapter 5 . 7/23/2019
You know, for someone who's into older women (his type is apparently a dorm manager onee-san, despite the fact that his dorm manager is an old man), Touma keeps attracting younger women for the most part. Isn't Saten 12 or 13 while touma is 16? That's... profoundly creepy.

Then again, character appearance seems to have nothing to do with actual age in this series (Index is 14 or 15, Stiyl is 14, Kanzaki is 18, Saten/Uiharu/Kuroko are 12-13, Mikoto is 14, Misaka Misuzu and Kamijou Shiina both have adolescent children (but look like college students), Laura and Aleister's age are unknown but they're far older than they look, and Komoe is an adult who looks like she's 12).
Guest chapter 3 . 7/23/2019
A minor detail to point out. Based on the 8th novel (Tree diagram remnant arc), judgement doesn't operate during the time when schools are in session. The office is locked up until classes are done, unless there is a serious situation that requires judgement members (with a special 'judgement excuse' from class).

A second minor detail: Konori Mii's esper ability is clairvoyance, and allows her to see through things. So even if Touma hides in a trash can, she'd be able to see him inside (she won't be able to see what Touma's insides look like b/c of imagine breaker though). But then again, it's an active ability, so she may have forgotten to use it for some reason.

Also, I think Frenda being alive is fine, as long as we're not far enough into the timeline that she'd have died. Then again, a great deal of Mugino's character development revolves around Frenda's death and Mugino's defeat by Hamazura, so her characterization should be based on earlier appearances. (also I love the fact that Takitsubo is preparing for vampires, since magicians are terrified of vampires)

BorderLand chapter 15 . 5/31/2019
Oh so she thinks of becoming a magician, it would be interesting if she becomes a powerful magician but well if she wants to stick close to Touma sooner or later she will naturally grow stronger or die.
fencer29 chapter 15 . 3/27/2019
Since this story appears to be set prior to the war between the Catholic/Russian Orthodox Alliance and Academy City I wouldn't worry about Misaka Worst. At this point she's probably still in a lab somewhere undergoing painful modifications intended to allow her to shield her from Last Order's directives.

Nor would I be too concerned with Accelerator's language impacting the rating since foul as his language may be, I don't believe any of it goes much beyond what one might hear in the hallways (or at least the rest rooms) of a typical high school (admittedly that is a pretty low standard).

However I do pity Komoe (and any runaway girls who may be freeloading with her at the time) should Accelerator ever come by when he's at full power since getting in and out of her apartment could prove difficult once he finishes reducing that accursed stairway to so much scrap meta (she really needs to look for a new apartment - preferably one which doesn't have a hastily patched hole which makes it look like someone inside fired a massive laser which sliced through the wall and then the roof with enough power to destroy an orbiting satellite).
