It’s not that I don’t like this story. I really do, those are just burning questions.

I really hope this is updated soon.

I’m curious on several things:
1) How did (R)WBY and (J)N(P)R die? (If Ren and Nora are even dead, you haven’t really mentioned them after all)
2) Why the fuck would Winter assign two officers too a mission that might bring up PTSD like symptoms.
3) Why are you writing Ruby and Jaune as being so distant from each other. Like, even in casual conversation they still refer to each other by rank instead of name more often then not. That makes no goddamn sense for two best friends.

Why has Ruby taken on Blake's mannerisms in the way of running from onring emotional situations that aren't hers?

So just a couple critiques to your rank structure here:
A captain is O-3 meaning a pretty seasoned officer, which makes sense for jaune in this fiic

However ruby being a Specialist E-4 wouldnt just hang around officers because thats fraternization a big no-no, i think making her a first or second LT would fit what your aiming for

Captains are not Non Comissioned Officers

Major, being an O-4 would not take orders from a Captain O-3 and work on a battalion level not a company level.

Cardin being a Sgt E-5 (I assume since you specified the recon platoon lead was a SSG E-6) would be a team leader or squad leader. The SSG would also be a squad leader. SFC E-7 is the proper rank of a Platoon SGT.

I would really suggest making Rwby a LT instead of Specialist and make the major Jaune puts in charge a 2LT. This would make Ruby the companies XO (executive officer) id make Cardin an SFC (Seargent First Class) since im gathering he leads a platoon, if hes not leading a platoon make him the company 1SGT (First Sgt) making him the Highest NCO in the company.

You know things have gone to hell when Cardin has become the one trying to help Jaune and Ruby, who are being destroyed by the losses they endured. It's nice to see Cardin having matured to the point where he is willing, although I can't help but wonder what he had to endure to get to this point.
Any chance we will learn what happens to CFVY or SSSN in this fic?

Yeah I knew being around Beacon memories of Pyrrha would come flooding back. What's especially painful here is since 10 years passed they've both outaged her which is sadly a feeling I know all tto well.

I feel bad for Jane it seems he's denying the possibility of him and Ruby together maybe out of survivors guilt? Ruby doesn't know how to help and yeah being there for so long they can probably feel the ghosts of the deceased around them. I wonder if Penny will be brought up too? As usual excellent job.

Nice chapter... It feels like they really went through a lot of things, I can't blame them to want to unwind. Though I must say it feels really weird to see how Ruby became like she did... The years really done a number on our two team leaders.

I'm becoming even more curious as to what happened to the remains of rwby and jnpr. Did they all die? How did Jaune and Ruby earn their ranks? Otherwise pretty good stuff, I hope the tense barrier breaks between them soon. Just so they don't have to be professional 100% of the time.

I'm liking the contrast of experienced Huntsmen compared to grunt soldiers who aren't seasoned by war. And we're getting a bit more backstory here, I guess you had Ruby's family killed off which is sad but I was wondering if you'd have everyone from the original 8 still alive (minus Pyrrha for obvious reasons) or have some die off. I think Weiss is still alive but I'm guessing Tai, Yang, and Qrow aren't and Blake hasn't been mentioned I don't think Ren and Nora have either but that could be intentional. I hope to learn more about what led them to this spot, and poor Jaune missing his sisters but war tends to do that. Really enjoying this. I have a feeling Jaune and Ruby will have a heart to heart like they used to soon.
