Hm, I'd never thought about mamoru maybe wanting a relationship with usagi's parents BECAUSE he doesn't remember his own rather than keeping his distance for that same reason.

Oh my God! OH EM GEE?! So. I loved this so much I could literally cry. It is so refreshing to see this from Kenji’s eyes. I mean this was such a freaking fantastic piece. In most fanfiction that I’ve read, when Mamoru is accepted into the Tsukino family, it’s always Ikuko’s. Which is fabulous. I love Ikuko to death. But for you to have done this from Kenji, was refreshing. And even more, to have done it from his perspective? AMAZING. Can I also rave about the way you portray Mamoru in this?! Because. I love Mamoru. SO MUCH. And the way you conveyed him.. made my heart get all melty. Like, the reserved, infinitely polite young adult that he would show Kenji. But then, the tender way he handles Usagi, the grateful flash in his eyes when she asks about his day, the surprise when Kenji leads him to Usagi’s room— and then the reveal that he had no family.
This was beautifully done. Thank you for finding a way to explain kenjis appalling anime behaviour and for writing something so beautiful!

Awwwwwww this is so incredibly sweet! I've always been a big fan of stories where Mamoru is welcomed into Usagi's family. You portrayed the dynamic between Kenji and Mamoru so well. I definitely believe Kenji would be wary of any boy Usagi dated but Mamoru being Mamoru would win him over eventually. I love heartwarming stories about Usagi's family and Mamoru and this one was excellent!

This is so wonderful I wish there were more chapters this subject is neglected and it’s so great to read someone portray it well

Oh! That was a lovely story! Unexpected tears shot out at the end. It left me with a warm feeling.

So I’m stupid and thought I’d read this one. Which I hadn’t. And now my eyes are leaking again. Family feels with the Tsukinos and Mamoru are like my cryptonite. I love how you did this in such compact little vignette/snapshots but still managed to evolve the characters. Kenji’s acceptance of Mamoru and a relationship with HIM at the end was a thing of beauty.

And now I really do have to go to bed. And grab more tissues. Sheeeesh.
