riddle used his magic as a child to hurt childeren, harry apparated himself once. but somehow learning apparation before age 15 is very dangerous and silent casting can blow up your magical core

it took hogwarts a whole year to deliver harry the warning of evil?

ofc harry doesnt press charges against dumbledore for legilimency because that would mean harry gets payback for his time with the dursleys it would also mean sirius gets freed and dumbledore dies.
this all is ofc not good for the plot, or so harry thought best not to dissapoint the readers

all those ppl who think hagrid was unfairly expelled all seem to forget that while he wasnt killing ppl with slytherins monster he was in fact raising an acrumantula, an known wizard killer.
so yeah expulsion is a good fit.
and for those who say hagrid simply doesnt know better, yeah well thats all the more reason to stop teaching him magic isnt it

there are so many inconsistencies in this story it does the name fiction proud, that is if you wernt contradicting yourself half the time.

a wand commisioned by a hitwizard a good 700 years before the ministry was founded, made from materials that are gathered in a country that wasnt discovered yet.

Good lord that Dumbledore scene near the start of this chapter. The sad part about it is, it explains way too much about the setting of the books. The obvious flaws in the culture, in the society that makes no sense as presented and comes across as artificial. Because of that dissonance between what we are told and what we see, between human behavior and the situation we read about. Something is terribly wrong in 'the wizarding world' and the entire audience knows it, consciously or unconsciously. The whole time your reading the series you're looking for that reveal of who/what has been doing the manipulations to make water run up hill like that. Well here we see it, and in the end it's all the result of one mans ego and need for control. After all, it's hard to control intelligent, competent, independent, confident people. The kind of people who would have issues with one man as head of education, head of the UN equivalent and head of the house of parliament equivalent.

That kind of sicking 'hands off' manipulation of people and their lives for generations all to turn their world into a puppet play conducted by a single man's will? It's what I'd come to expect and never got in the original books. That Voldemort was ultimately a symptom of the real rot at the heart of (proverbial) Denmark. Then of course, JK killed off Dumbledore and 'tied it all up' with a neat little bow. I don't blame her on that, but it's great to see others take up answering the question and addressing the sword of Damocles sitting on the wall in checkovs parlor since act 1.

Is this story on hiatus? Although your H.P./M.E x-over is my fave, sure would love to see more of this one.
