I love this fic! And I have to agree with Maddie's outburst, it was all Xander's fault. I mean, yeah Ben should have convinced Xander, Chris, and Calvin not to go. And had I been Sean, I would have whooped Xander's ass for taking the boat out to hunt down "mythological creatures." But Xander was being greedy and clearly has short term memory because he seemed to have forgotten that the last time they tangled with mermaid ended with Chris being abducted. I hope Xander gets what he deserves in Season 2.

That was good!

Gods that was intense! Very gripping and very adrenaline-filled, especially when Maddie deliberately placed herself between Ryn and Xander. I thought that would have been my favorite part but then the moment between the woman and the mermaid at the end, the exchange of love and trust, it was very very touching. Ryn's pleading with Maddie to not die for her sake...it seems very in tune with her personality and you did very well writing it.

well done I would love to see them interact more in the water
