Sev' who share his feelings... that's heartwarming ! :3

Quite pleased to have found your fiction ! While in the original story the whole persona of Severus being a cold and mean professor can be seen as a way to protect himself - and probably also because he was able to be in control over his life thanks to the (not so healthy) bonds he had with the death eater - I've always been a bit disappointed that we only saw a very small part of him being someone "nice". Sure, he tried to fix his wrongdoings and help Harry near the end. But he could have done so much more. He get the sneaky persona that could be expected from a Slytherin, just not the ambitious part, which I believe he deserved very much so.

*Sees author's note* Applaudes and salute.

I'm quite enjoying the story so far! You have an interesting and unique concept! Well done.

Excellent chapter!
But I reiterate my statement from last chapter: Why wouldn't Severus question his own reactions, prejudices, and pre-judgments? This is Lily's *son*; he has *always been Lily's son*! What caused him to forget that, prior to meeting the child? WHO put the *false* notions of Harry being a spoiled, arrogant, copy of James Potter into Severus' head?! And why /should he/ *fight* against the idea of offering parent-like comfort to this abused little boy?! Severus says he can and does 'compartmentalize' and is a Master Occlumens, so what's keeping him from exploring these anomalies occurring within his own psyche?!-

Harry's 'go-along' attitude, against his own, demonstrated, visceral hatred for bullying is worrisome: That he was so fearful of Ron turning against him for even attempting to deter Ron from bullying Malfoy, much less actually standing-up for and preventing the bullying of the verbally defenseless boy! I disliked canon-Harry for doing that very thing!
I expected a much different outcome from *your* Harry: Mein Gott, he stood up to and took a *grown-up*; a *Professor* to task for that very thing!
Harry's going to have to get his priorities straight; there are several better choices for "best mate" than Ronald "Big Mouth, Straight-gut" Weasley! Canon-Harry did himself a grave disservice when he allowed Ron to isolate him; Ron constantly made it known that he only grudgingly allowed Hermione to hang out with him and Harry...right up until Ron *suddenly* decided that HE was interested in her only *after* he saw how close Harry & Hermione were!

On another note: I was hoping that if Severus begins to take Harry's request for him to "try not to be so mean", to heart that he might start to temper his behavior towards Neville, as well.
Neville was another character given short shrift by Rowling: His off-the-cuff comments about being dropped out of the third-story window and dropped off a pier at a lake were horrifying to me, even though Neville shrugs them off! This is another little boy who desperately needs a 'mentor' and someone to stand up for him! Please don't be as dismissive of him as Rowling was? Both Neville and Harry could benefit from being friends!

Thanks for another emotionally fraught chapter! You're doing a terrific job!

Take care and stay safe!

Terrific story!

"...as he continued to sit next to the bed, watching over the child" (LOL! Severus is so determined not to listen to his feelings about Harry. But it will come.)

I loved this chapter. I can see that Draco is going to be a pistol when he can talk again. Looking forward to what you have planned for the next chapter.

I can’t wait for the next chapter. How are you gong to keep this such a unique story and not fall into the same story that has been told thousands of time already? I know you are...I am just excited to see how
LtsHrIt4ThBoyz chapter 6 . 4/25
That canon Severus was allowed to get away with bullying and belittling his students was just another fault of Rowling's failure to conceptualize and *entire* *school* setting! We know that as the Head of the school, Fumbleduck *knew* of Professor Snape's behavior and chose to ignore and actually dismiss the complaints his Potions Master is perhaps more telling of Fumbleduck's character than Rowling meant to disclose!
I seriously doubt that she meant for us to *see* the cumulative effects of the MOB's machinations towards systematically 'dumbing-down' the curriculum and 'allowing' detrimental behaviors, classes, and teachers free-rein in the supposedly 'Premier Wixen School' in the world! I believe she and her publisher seriously underestimated the intelligence of her audience!
She put all of these failures of an educational institution front and center, expected us to *not* connect-the-dots, and then proceeded to act like a 'magician' performing feats of legerdemain: "Nothing to see here! These are not the droids you're looking for! Move along!";D Oh no, Fumbleduck was a *wonderful wizard* and a "great educator"; the ultimate "Leader of the Light"! WTH?!
He spent *decades* replacing one disaster of a DADA teacher with another, year after year, but couldn't be chuffed to investigate the possibility that there *was* a curse?!
His blatant favoritism towards Gryffindor and bias against anyone sorted into Slytherin would have seen him *chucked out* in the real world!
A ghost that teaches irrelevant and biased History lessons in such a manner as to induce somnolence?! Well of course, if children don't learn the lessons of history then his own evil machinations can't be pinpointed, can they?
Potions classes that don't really *teach* potions, which in turn reduces the number of candidates for occupations that *require* potions as a prerequisite for those positions! Fumbleduck was *crippling* whole industries with his policies!
Hire a 3rd-year expellee who can't even *legally* wield a wand to teach one of the most dangerous classes in the school AND allow to breed hybrid horror creatures in his spare time! Yeah, nothing of concern there!
There is so much *wrong* with how Fumbleduck ran his little fiefdom that it's amazing that any children *survived* their school years, much less graduated!
Sorry, I'll get down off my soapbox now!
I hope you'll allow Severus to open his eyes enough to *question* WHY Fumblingduck *allowed* HIM to so poorly teach Potions, WHY the MOB never attempted to STOP him from bullying, denigrating, and terrorizing students?! It might lead to him asking *himself* why he'd behave that way when that *wasn't* the examples of teachers he admired and encouraged HIM when he was a student! Why would the bullied child become the bully? It's usually quite the opposite.
Thanks!

Good one.
Randomly Talented chapter 6 . 4/24
I can't help but saying, Malfoy deserved the punishment. He shouldn't believe that talking rudely to a professor will go without consequence. And Snape is getting an entirely shot fuse for Draco's behavior
