Hello TheComplex. Excellent fic! It is well written and paced and it even made the eyes mist a bit. I was thankful that it was a process for El and for Hopper. Not an easy fix for sure when you have a girl who has been physical and emotional mill on more ways than one. Two sections popped for me. I enjoyed the line about Hopper not caring about his public perception and how it change in light of El. He had to 'pay attention to the whispers about him.' Also, and even more powerful was your description of El standing in front of the couch 'her shaking frame...the only thing holding her together." Chilling and heartbreaking and so evocative. Well done.
