Wow, that was a spectacular story! Thank you so much for writing such an interesting and emotionally-deep piece. Your depiction of Sam's struggles as he's being cut off from the world is so heart-hurting and tense (the tapes scene is superb!), so that when the reveal came, I loved how it all fell into place why it had happened! Your Dean is almost perfect to me; the mix of anger guilt, despair, and love was wonderful and felt 100% canon to me.

I am, however, super-curious as to the 'witch' and what/who she was! I can easily see her being a witch or supernatural being, but really want to read more. One of the show's faults (for me) is the lack of in depth exploration on a 'monster's pov.' This story really ignites that for me, too! She gave Dean exactly what he wanted, clearly has the power to enforce her will on others, is willing to sacrifice an innocent to prove a point, but ultimately wants to help Dean understand that he's been hurting Sam and needs to change his attitude! I would love to see more about this witch/monster/character/creature and why, out of all the things she has the power to do, she chose to step in and act to benefit our favorite Winchesters!
