This story was a roller coaster. Sabo must be having a blast, knowing that everyone thinks Ace is a great spy. Meanwhile, Ace is just done. Poor Ace, who is most definitely not a marine.

I loved this so much! Your writing style is so clean and easy to follow. It would be hilarious if the whole crew knew that he wasn’t a spy but just went along with it for shits and giggles. Now they’re just doing it as an ongoing prank

This is actually pretty damn brilliant. Not only was Garp's reaction at the end hilarious (and I like the fact that Makino was reimbursed for all the food she'd made for the boys) but it's curious to think that being raised by bandits, trained by a Marine, living with a noble for a brother, etc. would have exposed Ace to so many interesting worlds!

How does Sabo do it all the time? Because he takes great joy in messing with everyone around him and leaving everyone to guess. He's a cerebral sadist. (possibly a masochist as well? he is easily the most messed up brother.)
