Reviews for An Awakening in Cold Steel
BrownBear18 chapter 40 . 10/7
This is honestly one of the most interesting crossover Ive had the pleasure of reading. The way you have to not make Morgan obviously OP with her prior experience or ignis is awesome as well and she really feel like an inherent part of class VII. Keep it up :)

Do you have plan for Robin and her mother though ? From what I surmised, Morgan come from a ruined future.
RosyMiranto18 chapter 40 . 10/6
I have a feeling thst the friend Morgan is mention is Musse. A really important noble who can't reveal her name for some family reason. And she came from the same place as Morgan, Heimdallr. Although, if it's not Musse, then it's gotta be Princess Alfin now that i think about it. Especially since Ordis' Summer Festival is last month and not this one.

Either way, i have a feeling that the S-Craft is gonna be named Ignis Cyclone. I feel that the description if the spherical prison and the wind-like movement gave me an impression of being trapped in a cyclone. Ignis obviously came from Morgan's usage of the Ignis spell there. Other options includes Typhoon, Tornado, or even... Prison. What do you think about it?
Anyway, i think that's all for now. See you later and Keep Update!

This Chapter was great. I'm curious about the change in character aspect for the next chapter. If the next chapter or two are the events of 'that' moment then that kinda narrows down who the characters are but I can't guess who and I like that I can't guess. Make me excited just thinking about it. Also I hope Morgan is there to witness 'that' moment because that could lead into some good character development. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this. Stay safe and healthy.
GarbageboyStinkman chapter 39 . 9/24
Enjoyed it as always, but you kind of kept calling Bridget "Brittany" there. Figured you'd wanna do a quick fix with that.
yukicrewger2 chapter 39 . 9/24
I'm still curious as to both Morgan's parentage beyond the obvious, and how much of her past she's willing to divulge to her classmates. Like the fact she was born in the country of Ylisse (even if the others don't know where it is), the fact her father's the royal tactician (which I believe is indeed Robin's job.)

If Lucina is indeed Morgan's mother, then I also wonder how far off it will be until Morgan reveals she's a Princess of Ylisse (I think baby Lucina would still be the Crown Princess either way)
alpha-alieria chapter 1 . 9/18
This is fantastic and fun...two of my favorite franchises mashed up without being an overt retelling? Sign me up! You do a really good job of adding more personality to some characters and just building on an already well realized world.
zexal4869 chapter 38 . 9/12
Ah these little plot points are all coming together and I'm loving it. Curious about Morgan's fourtue though but I'm sure we'll get it revealed in the next field study. Also Cedric crushing on Morgan?

Side Note: I'm kinda shipping Morgan and Rean together so hearing Cedric having a crush on her... yeah it will definitely make things interesting...

Anyway this really brought a smile to my face so I can't wait for more. Keep up the good work and stay safe.

I wonder what Emma will think of Morgan's Thoron tome
kalakauai chapter 38 . 9/12
Will you be doing the Crossbell duology after this story? Since it on the same timeline with trails of Cold Steel 1 & 2.
gerome945 chapter 37 . 9/8
Ominous foreshadowing?
Despite knowing nothing about LoH, I enjoyed this story so far. Thanks for the good work.
ThatOneGuyUpstairs chapter 11 . 9/7
Wait, so Morgan is Twenty at this point in the story? Is that a secret or does the academy accept people accept people at various ages? Or am I just misunderstanding what was written? Also while I haven’t played Awakening as of yet (when it came out the best I could afford was just watching walkthroughs) but I can’t remember anything about Morgan or even Robin not being able to cook anything without it magically being ruined (heck I remember a support conversation between Robin and Panne which directly states he’d be making dinner that night and was asking what she’d like). Admittedly it could be something she gets from her mother, or something unique to Morgan because of her circumstances, but that seems like its probably an important plot point. Especially since this version of Morgan’s seems to have somehow inherited powers from Grima, and given his whole deal, the idea that anything he makes is automatically destroyed or ruined somehow by magic kinda fits him thematically. Just pointing out question I feel this chapter raises.
bobking01 chapter 37 . 9/5
This story is pretty good so far and I'm glad that you diverged from canon in favor of something else but this chapter has one thing that stands out (in a negative way).
Assuming I'm right that Phantom Theif B was impersonating Holly to give Morgan the saddle, then there's a problem. In CS4, Rean figures out that B can't impersonate women, which means that the scene where Morgan gets in trouble for stealing it shouldn't have made sense.
Warmach1ne32 chapter 37 . 9/1
Does nukes exist in ToCS? I feel like they shouldn't so Fie should not have any idea what that is. Other than this nitpick it is a great chapter.
LightSpecter141 chapter 37 . 8/31
This was truly a fantastic chapter and a nice conclusion to the arc! Great job with the canon divergence and I REALLY hope that you add more of it. Lastly, I think Kancolle Haruna Chan just might be onto something with that customized Panzer Soldat idea.
Kancolle Haruna Chan chapter 37 . 8/31
And just like that, Morgan got promoted from Noble to Wyvern Rider! Didn't even require the use of a Class Seal, which is even better!

Jokes aside, it's nice to see that the Bryonia Arc's FINALLY ended, which is saying a lot considering the fact that this has been the longest arc I've seen you write as of yet! Laura and Fie have finally unlocked Support Level A, meaning that their teamwork has become even more unparalleled than before. On the other side, Morgan's finally revealed just a little bit of her skill and her past... although it appears she still doesn't remember why exactly those flames were passed down to her.

On the topic of Ignis, I actually found it intriguing at how you managed to integrate it with the utilization of an Orbment. The flames generate an energy similar to that of Orbal Energy, meaning that whatever spells Morgan casts are increased in power. But what actually got me thinking was how Fie mentioned that Morgan's essentially the equivalent to that of a magical bomb...which got me thinking.

Panzer Soldat are one of the revolutionary factors that change how Erebonia wages wars. While it is possible to mass produce these units to suppress the enemy through sheer numbers, the most dependent factors that can determine the outcome of a battle are strategy and tactics, the environment the battle is taking place, and of course, the grade and quality of skill of both Mech and pilot respectively. The last factor is the area that determines whoever will be the victor in a straight up Mech v Mech battle, which is the reason why Magic Knights tended to blow regular Panzer Soldat out of the water, in part due to their own internal orbal mechanisms and far more incredible output as a result of it.

But, we have Morgan. Morgan's capable of generating a 'form' of Orbal Energy. Should she get a custom Panzer Soldat unit for herself, something that could potentially accept energy generated by the pilot, then what do you think could happen?

Anyways, a fantastic update! Keep it up!
