I can’t wait to read more!

I’m having trouble enjoying her character the further the story progresses. She’s an adult, she isn’t an ignorant child I don’t understand why she’s acting this way. She’s intelligent academically yes, but she’s acting foolishly in every other aspect. Taking drugs, and potentially getting addicted isn’t something to brush off, but she’s letting this situation escalate, combined with acting out and skipping classes, off course she’s gonna get punished for it. She’s not handling her life intelligently or efficiently because she acting childish getting getting caught up in things that don’t matter! She’s been jn the universe for at least 11 years she should be accustom to handling the stress and knowledge by now?

This fic seemed to have potential, but at the end of chapter 5 I'm mostly just frustrated with the main character.

She has spent 11 years preparing for Hogwarts, but it seems she has not made any plans for various situations, and simply blunders from situation to situation. Why in the world would she not expect something to happen with Quirrel, and have a plan of action? Why not warn Dumbledore properly about Voldemort? Why does a trained occlumence have such problems with keeping her emotions in check and acting properly? Why hasn't she tried to do anything for Sirius? Why didn't she even think to pick up a knife while being tutored by her grandmother, to say nothing about actually learning a bit about potions?

It also seems quite out of place for Voldemort to attack occlumency barriers in the classroom. He wants to stay hidden, and if someone has barriers it seems likely that they also would be able to detect attacks. Any non-idiot would seek help, and then Voldemort would be exposed.

The plot of this story is captivating, and I’m enjoying reading it! That said, your portrayal of the four houses is simple and childish, and your main character, despite supposedly being an adult, acts like a child. She comes off as pretty thick sometimes, especially in her comprehension fo social interactions. Please don’t let her bumble her way through life, she has too much potential to let her down like that!
