It's true that sometimes we are so focused on our misery and hurt, so focused on doubt and despair, that we don't notice the presence of divinity. What a beautiful little story. Admittedly I am not familiar with the fandom from which this stems, and the situation this poor boy was in sounds truly horrifying/terrifying. I love the spiritual twist, though.
