Interesting, makes me happy I did an Obi/Siri search. I really like Dak, especially his connection to the Force, the fact you described it as a fire is interesting, even more so when you consider the different concepts of fire itself. After all fire for the most part is seen as a force of destruction which is true, but fire also brings new life in it's wake. Theirs also the fact fire can be used to create, like how blacksmiths use it to forge steel. And of course theirs Avatar the last airbender's philosophy to consider.
Apart of me is concerned about how you're going to develop Dak's relationship with Padme. I was listening to the audiobook of ROTS and was reminded Anakin and Padme's relationship was not a healthy one. Since you describe Dak as being disciplined and humbled very much like Obi-Wan is himself and Kenobi is a man who can have a relationship despite being a Jedi, I think it can work. Maybe you can extend their time on Naboo. Have them actually fight in battles for the planet instead of fleeing and going to Tatooine.
That's not out of the realm of possibility, The Trade Federation does have a considerable blockade so it might be better to go into hiding and start a guerilla resistance. This could also work in forging the relationship between the Gungans and Nabooians, after all this invasion helped unite the two peoples. Well I'm done rambling hope this helps.

I'm interested in how this will go now... Maybe with more resources, Obi-Wan can hack the Trade Federation control ship and retrieve evidence of the invasion so Queen Amidala has a chance at getting the senate to recognize her people's plight... And the interaction between Anakin and Dak ought to be good from here on out, I can see a synergy between the two when Anakin finally becomes a Padawan Initiate... Hope to see it continue.
