You separated them! Slytherin? Isn't Kate a muggleborn?

I wonder if they will be friends with Hermione. Harry doesn't need her pushiness but if she can control herself, she might make a good friend.

I liked the part where you made Kate’s great-grandmother a witch. I’d wondered how some of the saner, more emotionally-stable descendants of squibbed-out forebears might react when they learn that someone in their line is back in the Wizarding game.

Since wizards and witches can live a long time, might someone on Hogwarts’ faculty remember Kate’s great-grandmother and perhaps drop an anecdote or two?

I've always thought about this as a possibility, TBH, Harry having a friend in the Muggle world before Hogwarts. I love this.

A house other than the so boring and cliched Gryffindor or Slytherin would be good. Too many authors forget there are two other houses.

Hopefully with Kate and Neville as friends we can also avoid the standardized bashing of Ron and worship of Granger. Just leave them out as much as possible.
Kate seems smart, and we know how nasty Granger gets is anyone else answers a question.

I kind of figured Harry would be closer to Kate than Ron. If Kate acting like everyone else she wouldn't have befriended Harry leading to him being saved. So you'd think Harry would just think slytherin is evil and idiots go to hufflepuff. That would mean Harry really is a freak. I kind of want Harry and Kate to be in hufflepuff or ravenclaw together. Rather than in the two problem houses.
