Im hyped for the next chapter ooooo. I could literally feel the angst building up for when the two get their brains knocked back to them and see the wrong they're doing. Hopefully, you'll update soon-lmao it just makes me feel bad reading how much of an asshole these two mind-controlled boys arelike i love them and all, but surely they should face some punishments for this? (Especially after doing that to garp woaah. Idk what kind of punishment but i feel that they kinda should) Still, im excited for the ASL hurt/comfort. But more comfort. e?

I mean. Don't get me wrong, the angst gives me life. But also, these three have it so hard in canon that I'm so used to seeing fics where everything is /better/
Man, Ace and Sabo are going to be as much a mess as Luffy when they realize what they've been doing. To prey on Liffy's deepest fear like that? I don't... i don't know what kind of shape Luffy's going to be in by the end of this. The comfort is coming so he'll be 'okay' but he is generally just much better prepared and mentally capable of dealing with physical abuse, and that's at the point where it's juzt tearing him apart!
I hope your real life situation cleans up a little soon, politics are so... draining and hard to face.
I also want to say thanl you for your continued clarification of the proper way to address abuse while the characters take different paths. This is information that could reach someone who really needs it and I commend you for so faithfully and prominently including it!

Poor Lu. I hope Marco and Koala can help Ace and Sabo. I think the SHs would be as fiercely protective of Luffy as he is with them. Go Nami and Zoro!

Ya’know, when I read the summary the first time I thought it would be a few chapters of angst, the mystery of who the real perpetrator(s) is and then fluff/family. I didn’t expect Luffy falling down the rabbit hole of abuse, denial, unhealthy coping mechanisms and - with the way things are heading - depression.

Still, keep up the great work! I really want more! ;

Bueno, esto es muy triste. Luffy realmente necesita ayuda, ver todo ese maltrato como algo normal...terrible. Me gusto mucho que protegieran a Luffy, sus amigos tan leales. Pero lo que realmente es desgarrador es ver a Ace y Sabo ser malos con Luffy por ser controlados, ellos quienes son los que mas lo protegen, ¿sabes?, había terminado de leer un fic de ASL familar, ya sabes, con toda esa dulzura familiar, algo ya común en esta comunidad y luego BAM, veo el tuyo y rayos, me puse muy triste, se van a sentir tan culpable cuando reaccionen, ¿se podrán perdonar así mismos?. Luego de superar la tristeza, vino el enojo, hacia ese villano que los controla y como mi sangre clama por venganza. También Ace y Sabo tendrán que pagar las consecuencias de sus actos, una lastima, pero deben hacerlo. (Por supuesto, que todo esto es parte mi humilde opinión, respeto mucho el como desarrollas a historia y aceptare cualquier decisión que tomes en el futuro, porque bueno, es tu historia, ademas me encanta tal como esta.)
Realmente tu historia ha provocado que mis emociones se convertían en una montaña rusa y eso solo se debe a que tu historia esta muy bien escrita, hasta ahora muy realista con Luffy (se ve que el chico tardara en recuperarse de esto). Sigue así

Poor Luffy, Koala and Marco's disbelief are just making him question himself even more. At least now maybe they will realize there really is something wrong. Love the protective SH vibe this chapter had. It makes totally sense that they wouldn't tolerate anyone hurting Luffy, AU or not. I'm really enjoying the story, thank you for the update!

I did like the chapter, quite a lot! It's very interesting to see the people around Luffy coming to realize. I understand conpletely where Koala and Marco were coming from even though it had disastrous effects for Luffy. I'm not sure I agree with the straw hat's steadfast opposition seeing as how they don't actually have proof? I mean, concern is gokd, keeping him away from home is good, envouraging him to think about it and talk aboit it is good, but Luffy really is accident prone, and he really does do a lot of hero training, and since he's rubber getting hit is kind of the norm for him. I'm gkad they're sticking by his side but, as Luffy said, they probably shouldn't be speaking for him or deciding what's going on. (Even if they're right) if it were the other way around they could cause as much harm as marco and koala did
This got really wrong and critiquey but you should know that im correcting the straw hats with my limited knowledge of abuse handling and not at all trying to impose on your story or ooinions- just stating my mind!

Wow, I'm sure many readers can relate to Luffy's situation. I love the hero AU, and I'm very interested in seeing who is behind Sabo and Ace's behavior, and why.

No prob~ i like this chapter a lot! It makes perfext sense to me yhat Robin and Sanji would be the ones that noticed, Zoro could have because he's observant and protective, but Robin and Sanji deserve some attention and they're a nice contrast for each other, Sanji's angry incredulity and Robin's calm insistence.
I think that that's the worst part of abuse (in my very very arrogant opinion as someone lucky enough to have never had first hand exoerience) that the victim, in finding a way to deal woth the trauma, will oftentimes explain away their pain, worsening their self esteem and their chances of finding a better sotuation. Abuse is bad when it hurts physically, but it's worse when it hurts mentally to the point that the victim thinks they deserve it
Also, uh, yeah. You def picked the right coping mechanism for Luffy. Very true to himself.

Hero aus r always interesting, even when they're a bit touchy, like this one. I can't wait to see what villain is playing with Luffy and for what reasons (probs Doflamingo, tbh)
Also, aside from the intentional ooc ness with luffy (because he had to be a little not himself to doubt himself, as you metioned) he's pretty in character! His initial responses and dialogue wise, you know, so kudos for that! Thanks for posting, I'll be following~
