this was a beautiful story. I mean it. I always had a bone to pick with Goku for leaving Gohan and Chichi like he did. I get it, that's his nature and all, but still - cold, man. I like that you gave Gohan time to grieve and figure out a way forward from a horrific time of his life. :D this pic made me so happy.

I've gotten back into the Gohan/Videl mood recently, and this is one of the best stories I've read in a long while about the couple. I loved the innocence of the children but also the hardships Gohan had to go through after the Cell Games. I feel like a lot of people gloss over that, but this was beautifully detailed, especially the epilogue. And I loved reading about how Videl helped Gohan find that spark of life again. It was amazing to read. And hearing the feedback of the other Z Fighters was very funny.

What a nice story you wrote. One thing that bothered me a bit was the dialog of Gohan and Videl. You could hardly tell they were like 12! So many big words haha. Other than that, story was amazing. Nice short and sweet. Didn’t drag on, which I find refreshing (I’m guilty of that...). Loved the Yamcha, Bulma, and Krillin dialog. They were great. Piccolo was also a great addition to the story as his everlasting concern and love for Gohan was evident in the background. When Gohan, Videl, and Mr. Satan we’re discussing the Cell Games and Mr. Satan’s shameful act, you did a great job navigating it in the most sincere way. Honesty wins out. Loved the dialog at the end with Gohan and his thoughts about his father. Since Goku’s death was so recent in this story, that played a key role and you did a great job with it. Overall, a great story. Thank you for that. It’s been a while since I’ve read a good Gohan Videl story.

You are a good writer, sir/ma'am! I love the idea of them meeting younger, it made for a really sweet coming-of-age sort of story, dbz style. I actually like this alot better than the Saiyaman arc. This ending? Perfect. I do hope to see more from you in the future!

Honestly, I am AMAZED that this story doesn’t have more favorites. This is one of my favorite stories on this site. I’m usually very picking in what stories I say are my favorites, and I don’t think there was a single thing I didn’t like about this story. I felt like it presented Gohans character wonderfully and accurately, with a wonderful touch of sweetness and anger and macho when he fought. It truly is a master piece. Thank you for giving the world such an amazing read!

What a fantastic story! It is so well written and a great plot. We all know there’s a lot of GV clichés that are hard to get away from, but I feel like this was the most refreshing retelling I’ve read in a long, long time. Also, I really enjoyed that you didn’t just bash Hercule; he’s an actual non-ki martial artist and a tournament champion after all, and people tend to forget that since he’s outclassed by the main characters and used for comedic relief more than anything. So, well done!
