Anyways, i like how Astrid is still upset over everything. Like her sister just died and her whole life changed. She practically raised her sister and needs time to grieve. I hate how life changing scenarios are sometimes glossed over. Like people dream and have nightmares and get stressed and anxious with their emotions and need time to process everything and hiccup is so great for comforting her ;~; ... they sharing a bed! Heck yeah cuddle time every night lol

First of all, great to see you back.

I'll admit, I had to leaf through the previous chapter to remind myself what is what, but It wasn't hard.

You're right, chapter isn't long, but I think I needed something like it. A chapter from the AU I already know with some light-ish atmosphere. Nice to see that Astrid's really opening up to Hiccup.
I have some doubts about "Bon appetite" scene. I know Hiccup traveled the world, but Astrid hadn't. Would she know the meaning of that phrase?

This chapter is amazing! My heart melted just about every few lines~Hiccup is just so sweet and hot and perfect! I want to have him in my life so much it hurts. You did a great job with Hiccstrid! ;)
I'm so sorry you actually received life threats. I don't understand people who does that. We all have our own lives here in this site, which includes all the writers. So life can be hectic sometimes and it's totally normal that you update at your own pace. I'm already so thankful that people like you have these ideas, can actually write wonderfully, and are sharing their works with us. So don't take the threats to heart, and update whenever you want. (just don't give up on it is all I ask) :D

The lighthearted banter as more of Hiccup's life and Astrid's place in it show them finding their way away from what pressed them to be what they were on Berk.

And they are finding they are better together than apart.

Astrid's realization that the last of her sister is with her no more, helped her reach out and find someone who will not judge her by standards that call compassion, weakness.

Tomorrow's another day and I hope this is a solid place to build from as they go from here.

The way you described Alvilda's death is so real, raw, and heartbreaking, I actually shed tears.
When Astrid was hurting, all the small gestures Hiccup did were so comforting and sweet it went straight to my heart. And the way you write Hiccstrid is amazing! The feels!
I can't wait for what's going to happen next!
I am so glad that you decided to continue this story after two years! And I really hope you would never abandon it. I will be there whenever you update again!

Another beautifully written chapter, really makes you feel like the Viking and dragon aren’t the only ones connecting. The flashback helps show the inner conflict Hiccup had when taking them, he didn’t have much of a choice, it’s a shame the village won’t see it that way.
Also as a side note fanfic doesn’t like links, so the one at the bottom didn’t work.

I read this chapter first on mobile, and since my ancient device seems to forget italics exist sometimes, that flashback was one hell of a confusion until I reread this on computer with proper formatting.
Then it made sense.

It's good to see why Hiccup was at Berk's raid in the first place, that not all dragons are good, and that Astrid is slowly turning around. I mean, she still has her issues and beliefs, buuuuut..! yeah, she's starting to understand.

From Astrid's flight with Hiccup, she learned much of what all others were wrong about, about dragons.

Though Alvilda's death still haunts both, it's not forgotten as things continue.

An honest talk between the two, they may be forming what could change their worlds, but there's still problems to overcome and danger to get through...

It was a nice chapter. For me is good it the chapter stay under 5000k Is more easier to read that way. See you on the next one.

I really liked this chapter. Hiccups pov really helped to make this whole "abduction" scene clear as to why he did everything he did. The talk between Hiccup and Astrid was really nice too. At least now they more or less know where they stand. Now, they just need to build on it. The possibility of them having some adventures on the mainland sounds very appealing too.

Had to re-read it when I saw you’d uploaded, and it’s as good as I remember. I love the development of their relationship, from mistrustful and scared, to maybe not the worst Viking in the world. Maybe they can be hurt together now, rather than apart. Still one of my favourites, keep up the great work :)
