Loved it! I love a little Cas an Sam bonding. They always glossed over that friendship in the show. I love reading about the details of it here.

I really enjoyed this story, especially the friendship between Sam and Castiel. I really like how Sam told Cas that he was his friend and that it was an honor to have the angel as his friend. Castiel's selfless nature is very prominent here - or maybe it's already the beginning of his (patently) false belief that he is expendable. I love that both Winchesters stayed with him and did everything they could to help him and how *worried* they were about him, because he's a friend, one of them. I don't know if that's how you meant it, but I loved the jab at those people who deface historical sites; I'd say the hikers - if indeed they're the ones who broke the sigils - got what they deserve. I'm also a bit surprised that Sam didn't already know the story of Cronus; he seems much more 'learned' than Dean and that would be something right up his alley as a hunter. But since as you know I only watch Castiel episodes, I imagine there's a lot of things I don't know about the Winchesters so maybe it's not so surprising after all!

Moments between Sam and Cas are the best! :) I love how caring and just genuinely companionable this was, especially the last scene! Cas insisting that he's expendable for them, Sam actually saying the words that he's NOT, that he isn't cannon fodder... gah, Cas needs to hear this! After millennia as an angel being told by his superiors that his use is as a soldier following orders, it's such a relief to see the boys treating him right. And backing it up by risking their own lives to save him. Also, the image of Dean against the flames of the torches as he charges in for the rescue? Spectacular! :D Loved every second of this, omg! :D :D

I'm glad that Sam got the chance to tell Cas that he is just as important to them, as they are to Cas. Cas might be Dean's angel, but he's proven that he is Sam's friend too. Sam really does need all the friends he can get. The three of them can acomplish many things, as long as they stand together. :)

Good story line, well written.

Poor Cas, everything is always trying to drain his power. At least Cronus wasn't that hard to gank. Really liked protective Sam here, and the moment at the end when Sam told Cas how much he meant to them, and Cas told him he deserved better. I always loved how devoted Cas was to Sam even with the whole demon blood thing.
A nice little case fic :) And I look forward to whatever you end up writing next n_n

Interesting take on what could have turned out to be just a simple wending hunt! Poor Cas, always getting thrown around and feeling more or less like it's alright. At least Sam and Dean are there to remind him that it's not ;) great story!
