New zealand! Lol. Country of 5 million. 103 days covid free, 22 deadin the beginning. We had a contaminated shipment from america recently which infected a man, and now we have a cluster from the person, but it is contained and there are no more deaths. We just got back from a snow holiday actually. Lol. So the rest of the country is basically business as usual. Hope youre safe where you are.
I know some people dont like filler chapters much but I enjoy them, especially when they serve so many purposes like this one has. Details, plot build up, forming bonds and dealing with information, building backstory and worldbuilding, etc etc etc. lol. It all ties in to make a better story in the long run. So cheers for that!

Wow I somehow didn't expect MI6 to listen in on the Q&A session and use Alex' responses as well as his reactions to RTI as a way to test him! Although it does totally make sense. I really like how thought out his answers were and how manipulative he can be! And I dig Wolf asking aout the dead drug dealer that sowed up in camp and the message behind it. It's very reasonable to be a bit shook when finding something like that in a supposedly secure location.
It's also lovely to see how Smithers & Co view Alex and the whole situation as well as how conflicted some of them are. I wonder if Jones is going to find out that Alex has indeed been in contact with Yassen ... I also wouldn't mind seeing some more of him! That they're discussing Alex' personality switches in RTI is also a nice touch because I would totally be concerned about them being or becoming alters! And I'm of course super intrigued what's going to happen at Christmas!

The TV show actually exceeded my expectations! I'd totally recommend it if you haven't seen it yet! I was a little bit afraid that they'd butch it but I practically binged it in one go. It kind of mixes elements of the fist two books and there are some major difference to the them but the show had me totally hooked (especially after the 3rd episode or so)! It has a darker tone to it than the books and also focuses more on Alex' relationships with other characters. I absolutely love Alex interactions with Tom as they depict a close friendship between boys that's not often shown in other shows (were boys aren't allowed to be emotionally vulnerable). Also, I really like Wolf's and Yassen's casting!

Dam, your stories are unbelievably a-ma-zing. Very talented writer. I look forward to your next chapter.

I love how you manage to connect elements of your story with canon elements - like Zebra's escape and Alex' Afghanistan mission in this chapter! It would be lovely if that came up later again. I also really appreciate that you take the time to research all the stuff you incorporate in your story! I have seldomly seen a ff so well fleshed out and with such an effort put into remaining true to actual facts and practices. Also, I love the idea of Alex channelling Julius and Yassen during RTI! It's also great that you had Alex escape RTI but then had him undergo it again as everything else would have defeated the purpose of the whole exercise (like in most other ffs *coughcough*). I actually really loved the whole chapter and I am wondering as to Jones' intentions with giving Alex permission to expose some of his mission details! I am also really loking forward to the questions the solders are going to ask Alex!
(I have to confess that I actually read your whole fic again before reading the new chapter. It's awesome and I am in desperate need for some fandom content after watching the Alex Rider TV series!)

What did you think of nightshade? I enjoy the ways anthony finds to make bad guys. The cultist feel was pretty neat. Looking forward to the next one. Not sure if im happy with him making alex not want to spy after the previous book, where he accepted its a part of him. But still. He is gonna help jones for the next one at least. Yay.

I love how observant your Alex is and that you have him improve his skills over time instead of just making him unbearable and better than everyone just because he did a few missions. I also think that he would have picked up some things from the scorpia training although it's never mentioned in the books. The way you write the missions and their plots is also super intriguing! I love that you fit them in between the whole SAS training. Also, I really like your Eagle! It's so refreshing to read a hyper Eagle, who has a good reason for acting that way and who can be serious as well. All those characters form the SAS are super interesting and I love reading their reactions to whatever Alex is up to. The fact that Yassen seeks Alex' help and helps him improve his skills as well in secret also adores this story to me! Also, I think that this is the only fic which makes use of the Horowitz's short stories. I love how you play with those characters and built on the stories' plots. It's great that you explain their plots in a way in your fic, that the readers don't necessarily have to have read them.
Now, in this chapter I think it's really in character of Alex to save the elkhounds before he blows the boat up. In the books he seems to care about animals and most of the time keeps them out of harms way or at least sympathizes with them. The cousin thing was also a great idea! I am looking forward to the soldiers reaction when Alex gets back to the camp.
