Great story! I don’t hate on the gender change of Haruta, since he is not that mayor of a character, and being a girl has a clear intent in your story. I also agree that there should be more female characters in the Whitebeard crew and I only hate when people change gender of main characters without a reason or the reason being romance ʅʃ. Anyway, really wanna know what happens next, and when the brothers will meet again!

A lot of this story revolves around haruta and how she feels... And me trying to like her even though she was getting on my last nerve for most of tge story. You started telling her ruff past ,i suppose it was to let people know why she was the way she was. But I got so annoyed in the begining I skimmed through the last 2 chapters cause they were mainly about her and I didnt want to know. Imma go back and reread them. Most of the stories I read shes over bearing for a little mabey added in a chapter or to. She was consistent in her efforts here though. Imma go back and give her a chance. Everyone has thier stories. Her hate for ace and then her care for broken promises even with people or a person she hates had me feeling some tipe of way. I dont know I really shouldnt dislike her character this much. Ive never really disliked her no matter what way she was written until now. I'm conflicted.

Well, I for one don't really need too gory a description of any wounds, so your plans for Thatch sound fine (and reasonable), so go for it!
And sure, you can deal with Blackbeard any way you like. To provide further ideas, I'd again need to at least know the rough direction you want to go.
But whatever you decide on, I'm sure it'll be fine!

I hear you; I think it was a combination of the two: Thatch felt so utterly safe on the Moby and around the crew that he never even thought about paying any kind of attention he didn't want to around his brothers, which, in all their minds, sadly also included Teach. I'm just saying this because, well, you cannot stab someone in the back when they face and talk to you, no? Even when they trust you with all their heart and thus do not see or comprehend any little signs that something's amiss (and thus fail to protect themselves), it wouldn't result in a literal backstab.
Thatch is an incredibly social person. He saw Teach as family and trusted him without reserve, but I always believed that had he even been aware of Teach approaching (and not lost in thought about what to do with the DF as I assume), he'd turned to him just to innocently /chat/ with his brother. But bah, that's such a small thing in the scope of things.

As for the injury... I'm not sure...? Depends on what exactly you want to change. Will you still set up the same scenario as in canon, just with Thatch starting to turn around? Either with his full body, which could result in a bad slash instead of an immediately fatal stab, or initially just mostly with his head, which should probably still angle his body just slightly enough to get stabbed in a different and maybe less fatal place? I'm not sure.
If you want to set up a different scenario altogether, I'd need more info on that to try and come up with a suggestion. Though I don't really have any more actual medical expertise than you, mind you, neither from personal experience (and good grief, let's be glad for that! o.o) nor theoretically (outside of what you snatch up from media at least).

Should be an interesting conversation between Ace and Garp pretty soon...
