This was a nice take on Ed's future. Very in-character. I love the idea of him becoming a teacher.

Nice. I really like how you've captured the way Ed is just slightly out of step with the world around him, surrounded by people who haven't experienced war or terror and simply can't understand. Learning about something secondhand through records and histories gives shallow knowledge. You've really conveyed that gap well.

It's like SUDDENLY INTENSE EDWARD! STATE ALCHEMIST WATCH! And then even as people are slowly figuring out who he is, he's already run head-first into danger because since when has something like this been a big thing? He's transmuted himself before. He's torn himself apart and fought through the pain as Winry stitched him back together. He's Edward Elric, Fullmetal Alchemist, and he has experienced more than an army combined; the fact he needs a gun in his hand to do even a fraction of what he could by clapping his hands together means little in the face of his will, because his will for years was to get back his brother's body. And he did.

So what's a little bullet and a burst eardrum?

Just. ARGH this fic was an amalgamation of all the best tropes out there, executed perfectly.
