I’d suggest Goro Akechi to do the dirty work of assassinating Kokabiel once our Trickster provides an opening… but that’s just in Poor Taste, given what Crow’s been through all his life. Best to let sleeping dogs lie (and this kind of 'heat' is more suited for Shin Megami Tensei, where fighting against/alongside demons, against Heaven and/or Hell while the apocalypse is taking place is considered the norm…)

1) ERROR SPOTTED:
"She killed me." Issei points out. / "And she tried to kill me." Akira deadpans back. The retort leaves {ISSEI} no chance to respond.

2) They named it in honor of the original Excalibur? In honor? This Excalibur Destruction is nothing but a mockery. It is quite weak, in all honesty.
[The cast of "High School DxD" had better be glad that Shirou Emiya and Saber of "Fate/stay night" aren’t around, then…]

3) However, there are several drawbacks to her power. One of it is that it takes too long to charge it up. She'd seen her brother fire it off in an instant, but no one ever told her that it was through centuries of hard work and effort. / As a result, her power level is severely lacking when going up against even the likes of Raiser Phenex. The Pillars cannot display weakness. That is a fact. To display weakness is to leave your Pillar vulnerable to attacks, no matter if you're a Duke or even a Great King. Yet, she'd been allowed to get away with stagnation for so long. Thanks to her brother. / "Y-" She can't say it.

4) "Tell me, Yuu- No. Raynare. Was it really a lie?" The alias she used to approach him for the date. Why he'd have to bring that up now? / "Hate to break it to you, but you're not my kind of guy. Maybe the nun would appreciate it more, but not me." She snorts. The date was pretty bad, honestly. No girl wants a guy to look and act so enthusiastic during their date. Rather, it simply comes off as him looking desperate and creepy, as if he's trying to get laid on the first date. If she wanted a better date, there were definitely better options out there that she can get with ease, given her beauty. In fact, there would be many who would no doubt fall over just to have a chance for a date with her. / However, she didn't exactly crush his hopes. Issei was definitely growing on the nun, after all. "I see. Thank you."
[Well… that was certainly a peaceful resolution to Issei’s trauma with women that prevented him from getting closer with his harem. Good for them, I suppose.]

5) The only option now is to wait and intervene the moment Kokabiel acts.
[Too bad Akira normally uses handguns/pistols — Satanael could have probably taught him some ’trick shots’ while shooting with sniper rifles, not unlike Agent 47 from the "Hitman" franchise. Could make for a great OMAKE!]

Apologies, but I find your sentence structuring (concerning the characters speaking) to be bothersome — it’s presented like "SPEECH" here, then *NEXT PARAGRAPH* continuing as the next sentence, IN THE SAME PARAGRAPH. I almost can’t make heads or tails unless I reread them to make the judgement myself.

Yeah, it's good when supernaturals are written as something other than cosplaying humans ( also I still think DxD is written from the Pov of a devil ) - but also you run the risk of readers being unable to relate to characters if it goes *too* far. Dxd already makes them far more human, angels and devils as portrayed in tne bible are both utterly terrifying ( and the Grigori fell to help humans... the whole thing is upsideown ). Supernaturals other than creator figures should really venerate humans though, they all depend on humans for their existence. Perhaps they go through a detachment phase when they first realise what their long life means compared to humans.

And then there's personas - if they really are more a very wierd summon rather than a gestalt template then every single one is going to imprint on the summoner - which makes, after repeated summons, the summoner into more or less the mind of a supernatural jammed in a human body ( and in the case of a wild card, in real danger of serious mental illness I'd imagine ). Even if there's no memory bleedover ( suddenly millenia of memories! then sudden amnesia! yuck ) just the attitude of the summon is going to make it's mark, you can't link minds with an alien & not be affected.

Thanks for making Raynare into an actual character, fallen get a raw deal in DxD ( except Azazel who gets away with as much as the devils do ) and she had just enough page space to make her into someone you have some feeling about. Here's a fallen-related question to ponder; if they're cut off from heaven's system, where are they getting their holy energy? and even more, how the hell can Akeno still use it without frying herself? her even being a devil hybrid at all makes no sense. Given the first devil was a fallen angel, she surely should have become a pure devil... Things To Distract Azazel With.

If there’s one thing that really “grinds my gears”… it’s ship-teasing with rather ‘undesirable’ characters; case in point, Raynare after Akira’s and Asia's run-in with her rogue faction, even if it turns out to be a case of ‘malicious miscommunication’ or ‘poor communication kills’.

(The overall racism and perceived superiority over humanity isn’t doing any favours for those Fallen Angels - at least “The Pawn of Grisaia” By: Curse of Whimsy turns their situation into an epic porno!)

And to top it off, you gave me “A Demon Among Devils” flashbacks (even though I hated the romantic aspects of it) when you had Ddraig drop this line which had me in chuckles:

From Azazel’s interaction with the Persona of Satanael, it’s clear that the crazy bastard (the former) holds the latter in high regards... but how to contrast them? Is Azazel like the ‘Bunny-Ears Lawyer’ while Satanael is like the ‘Consummate Professional’ (AKA likely the ONLY member of the Fallen Angels faction that nobody in the supernatural world fucks with)?

What I DO love about this chapter is the ‘introspective’ relationship between Akira Kurusu and Akeno Himejima - the whole ‘dancing along the lines’ on where they stand as individuals: acquaintances, confidants, enemies, friends, lovers even (or not)?

It’s all very confusing, and matches up with the whole human-adolescent ‘teenage angst’ clashing with the supernatural world’s perks and penalties.

Only time will tell... and honestly? Character interaction is way more enjoyable here than in “A Demon Among Devils” to me!

Honestly, I was afraid you'd make the guy a devil. Glad to see you didn't. The stories of "Rias is the greatest and Humans are inferior creatures" that seem to be common place rubbed me the wrong way.
Also, take this with a grain of salt since I hate Rias, I always thought she manipulated everyone of her members. She always seemed in the right place at the right time (Oh yes, I'm supposed to believe she was in the very same forest Kiba died in at the last moments of his life. Very realistic, It's not like there was a wherehouse filled with kids that had holy energy inside them or anything)
