This is a wonderful AU on how Sae became how she was. It is nice to see Sae break her icy shell to nurture Yusuke. It is also nice to see the gangster's story expanded to show why she and then Makoto hated him and later wanted him to pay.

I can feel the difficulties real well, and the same goes for the growth. I guess this is also what they call a rare pairing, yeah? Still, you made it work! I like how Goro's really involved in this, too. And now I'm imagining how the next Palaces will go, hahaha!

I wouldn’t say that Sae and Yusuke is a paring very common in the fandom, but you make it work and far beyond that. This fic absolutely rocks and, barring a few grammar errors every once in a while, it’s the best thing I’ve read in a while. A fic that tugs on heartstrings like this one does needs more appreciation. You’re a great writer.

This was probably one of the best non-standard P5 pieces I have read on this site. Features atypical focus characters (Yusuke and Sae Niijima... TOGETHER) in a way feels both original and fairly believable under the given premise (she was horribly disfigured in a fire prior to the start of the game, and she was formerly an art aficionado).

There were a few cases of odd word substitutions that are almost certainly cases of runaway autocorrect, but aside from that it was great. It seems like not a lot of people have read this, and I think they are sorely missing out.

So now Sae will regularly be haunted by her hypercompetitive, cruel, and dishonest Shadow. By giving up on hope and surrendering herself to the unfair system, she has allowed her distorted desires take over her choice of words.
