Dang, hope Roman survived. Flare's relationship with Lex seems reminiscent of what Blake and Adam turned out to be in canon, don't know if that was your intent. But I will admit Lex is a lot more intimidating and seems a good deal more cunning and controlled. Psychopathic and ruthless, but capable of cruel planning, and it's pretty good to see. Speaking of ruthless, Tyrian's humanization with his interactions with Honey are good, Viper's internal thoughts to. It's strange that people so ruthless and violent are capable of moments of empathy and compassion that we all feel. Sadly, even Adolf Hitler allowed the Jewish doctor that cared for his mother safe passage to America, so this is something all too real, though I'd say Tyrian and Viper are far more moral than Hitler. Fight was pretty epic, Ruby's sheer determination and willingness to help people who've hurt her was great to read, even though she's in a bad state. Looks like Weiss came to her rescue at the end. Since Lex is confirmed to be Sienna's right hand in Atlas, he probably knows what happened to Pearl, which is going to be interesting if Viper's plan to make Adam the new leader of the White Fang takes off the ground.

KO awesome chapter, looks like Ruby’s group is already very close to finding the White Fang and Roman as they’ll see what the villains are up to and I think it was awesome how Yang shoved Raven in the face by telling her Ruby isn’t Summer. It would seem Raven is the immature one than Yang.

KO awesome chapter, well things sure are getting weird especially for Ozpin talking to his past selves and hopefully Ruby’s group will be able to find what they’re looking for though may end a little funny.

OK, wow. It's been 2 months and I have yet to comment?! For shame!

So, as always Whitley's perspective is interesting. When I say "as always" I generally mean the type of perspective that seems to go so starkly against canon. Anyway, it's nice to see a bit of this softer version. Also, sudden White Fang attack is sudden but at least it allowed Flare to cut lose and show off a bit of how strong she actually is :D Plus... who even gives a fuck about hostile White Fang goons.
... I realized while writing that last sentence that I had to add "hostile" seeing as this is like the only story I know in which the White Fang doesn't appear like a get together of hostile terroristic assholes :P
Those goons though... the type that is willing to carry out assassinations on otherwise innocent parties like Whitley can die for all I care.

Ruby is... curious as always. I honestly don't know where she stands with Mercury. At first it seemed like she was aware of his intentions and his status as a person of interest to Ozpin but lately it seems like she's actually somewhat falling for him. Which, if real, I have mixed feelings about. Mercury isn't exactly the type I ship... with anyone. Plus the fact that he may (or may not) end up betraying them later down the line.
Or maybe Ruby is just an amazing actress :P

Tyrian story is just as fascinating. You really have a knack for taking established character types and believably turning them on their head like this. I mean, he's still a murderous psychopath but somehow, when ordered to by Salem, he can be a caring person to a child desperately needing stablity... who knew xD
Also the Winter Maiden (who ironically turns out was an old woman on her death bed in canon) still needs to be properly saved. That is to say, I'm very much looking forward to our newly invigorated Ozpin learning about what Ironwood did and proceeds to deal out ass whooping of epic proportions.
Side note: Did Winter also know about this? She is generally interesting as a character due to her standing as both Weiss' sister and Ironwoods lapdog.

Cinder is still delightfully despicable. I love her :D
The way she toys with targets and "allies" alike is just so fitting for her. Manipulating Emerald not only to get a loyal servant but also because she's enjoying it. Looking forward to the moment the facade breaks and Emerald gets to see her for who she really is... and the probably will still struggle with her feelings of affection and the repulsion she feels. Sticking with Cinder despite also somewhat hating it. Yup. Cinder seems like the type to enjoy watching that.
She also seems the type to throw away her toys once she gets bored for some last entertainment as the realization sets in.

All in all another amazing chapter. Sorry for the super late comment but I'll be looking forward to the next one whenever it's ready.
After all, this is literally one of the best ongoing stories I'm reading now.

PS. I'm sorry about your grandpa and all the shit you have to go through. I feel wholly unqualified to comfort people in their time of need. I'm a rather crass person when it comes to stuff like that. Even if my advice is way late I'll give it a shot.
For one. Make sure to take care of yourself. Not just in allowing yourself to grieve but also in not catering to others. If your dissatisfied with demands and expectations other place on you in terms of how you should behave and feel in regards to your grandpa you need to make your displeasure known.
People handle things differently and as such may end up expecting others to work the same way. That's a two way road as well. Others may expect you to act this way while you expect others to just understand how you feel. Communication is key!
And if others say you are wrong... then tell them NO. Nobody gets to decide how you should feel and nobody should be allowed to force their opinions on you out of a false sense of entitlement.

Second, and this is by far the most important bit. If you feel like it's too much. Like nobody understand you and you don't know how to deal with things. GET HELP.
Therapy (unfortunately) carries a lot of negative stigma with it. Of how it's only needed for sever cases and how no "normal" person would need therapy but that's nonsense. They exist specifically to help people unpack their mental burden and deal with negative influences and thoughts they themselves may not even understand. Wounds of the mind are, after all, not visible like a fractured ankle so many deal with things as though they will just disappear on their own eventually. Sometimes they do... other times not.

All I can say is that regardless of how this affected you and how you deal with it, I wish you the best.

KO awesome chapter, things are going to get a little weird with Raven leading Ruby’s team for the mission hopefully Yang will at least try to get along with her as she trust her team and future boyfriend more than her.

Lovely chapter and introspection

Awesome just great chapter. I love your writing style and how well set up this chapter was I mean you actually managed to get me to sympathize with tyrian of all people. Also the way you've set up yangs character is so enjoyable and interesting and it still looks like she may be willing to betray her mother to Salem with the right words from her darker personality or even the grimm queen herself. Lastly love how you set up mercury and cinder as mirrors if a set path either could have taken in their dark fall but how their mentality shapes their actions.
