Reviews for Splinters
Guest chapter 14 . 7/28
I really liked this! Would have liked to see more Ezra/Sabine though. It was pretty funny to see Sabine embarrassed when people talked about her sleeping with Ezra!

It would be cool to show the mission to liberate Sabine's father in this AU. The fact that they were both prisoners of the Empire is something they could have bonded over, and Ezra would be even more determined to bust him out. It didn't look like they tortured Sabine's father. He probably knew of the defenses of the Wren stronghold, but they'd have changed them as soon as he was arrested.

I'd love to see more stories like this!

So, Sabine makes promises; empty promises it seems. She kinda did let Maul take him.

I wrote a chapter for a story of mine that had Ezra training Sabine, and he switched up the lightsaber numbers. I was happy and proud of myself-and then I came here. Found out you did the same thing before I did. Karabast.

Subtle, but I really like how Ezra flinched when Kanan made his blind joke. Shows he still blames himself to a certain degree.

Kanan's blindness changed him for the worse, as we never see him get back to his usual level of quips. Sad, but he still makes a few in S3 and the first half of S4.

Well, I'm all out of Star Wars things to review for the time being. Time to wait for the next chapter of Shatterpoint.

Again on the Ezrabine thing (as if I ever comment on anything else) I would like to point out not a single member of the Ghost crew panicked as much as Sabine did. Maybe I'm reading too far into it (as usual), but this seems to be another round of hysterical hugging.

Imagine her response when (if?) they get Ezra back from Maul...

This is actually neat, how it synchs up with Shatterpoint. Ezra seeing Maul works with Chapter 2 of Shatterpoint.

And, of course, Sabine vows not to let anything happen to her not-boyfriend. Shame she failed...

Makes me wonder how recovered Kanan is, and how much he hides under his mask. Normally, I’d say that enough time has passes for it to be a non-issue, but we basically jump straight from Mustafar, to Vader, and then to Malachor, Maul, and blindness. How would you rate Kanan’s mental health at this point? He’s like the strongest Jedi after Obi-Wan.

Maybe that’s why Maul wants to kill him...

Being honest, the romantic in me wanted Ezra to call Sabine, since she’s the one who’s given up the most to help him recover, but Kanan was likely a better choice. And I trust an Ezrabine moment is upcoming in Shatterpoint.

What’s really sad is, if you chart Mart’s journey through canon, his friends aren’t seen after S2. After Sato’s death. So, my head canon is that he pushed them away in his grief, and they stayed away. Kinda what would have happened had there been no Ezra during this series.

Personal favourite of this one is protective Chopper. It’s a side of the droid we never really see exist. Perhaps with Jacen, but not with Ezra. It’s...refreshing.

In my head, I’m envisioning a mirror. A rock gets thrown at said mirror, and it cracks. Slowly, after time left in the elements, those cracks start to grow, start to splinter, slowly ruining the integrity of the mirror. For weeks this goes on, until the mirror reaches its Shatterpoint...

Judge1964 chapter 6 . 4/29
What’s fascinating is the series of events that follow Cracks. Atollon’s destruction prompted Mothma to speak earlier, which in turn led to a smaller Alliance. Which leads to...?

Judge1964 chapter 5 . 4/28
Methinks those splinters are growing...

Only a matter of time until the mirror shatters

Sabine begged her mother, the indomitable Countess Wren, to let her return home. To Ezra. During a Mandalorian Civil War. Hmm...

Although, perhaps the signs are easier to see when your looking for them.

Judge1964 chapter 3 . 4/28
So, let’s talk about your actual story titles. ‘Cracks in the Mirror’ was the initial torture and result of that. ‘Splinters’ is continuing what happens to a mirror if you throw a rock at it, summing up Ezra’s slowly deteriorating mental state. Then, ‘Shatterpoint’. Oh boy. Sabine has her work cut out for her with this one...

Normally, I’d skip my Ezrabine prattle, but it’s the entire chapter, so sue me.

Sabine’s guilt over something that was beyond her control (much like Zeb’s guilt) has caused her to remain away from Mandalore likely far longer than intended, going on three months by Shatterpoint. Even going to the step of sleeping with Ezra, staying longer than necessary, you can’t tell me that’s all out of guilt. That’s out of being willing to do whatever it takes to help her friend.

Judge1964 chapter 1 . 4/28
The main issue with Ezra is his extreme reluctance to ask someone to help, preferring to shoulder the burden alone. Even if people like Zeb and his not-girlfriend are more than willing to help.
