Blake finally gets what's coming to her. Honestly, she lives, breathes, speaks hypocrisy and cowardice. She needs a dose of reality. Hope Jaune tears into her.

Oh cool the Blake Hypocrisy Hour finally comes upon us.

I can't blame Jaune for thinking the way he does much like I couldn't blame Weiss. My biggest surprise comes from Jaune himself.

I don't know if it's just me but it feels like the whole Jaune and Weiss rivalry is absolutely moot at this point. It's fine that they separate and have their own problems to deal with as it expands the story, but it also deviates from the original premise a bit. I know that the BHH was going to happen, everyone did, nobody can seem to NOT let it happen.

Maybe Jaune's reaction seems odd to me. I understand that it's his family at stake too, much as it was Weiss', but Jaune seemed like the more levelheaded and calm one. Sure he has a breaking point and Blake absolutely broke it (honestly that fight was fair as much as it was brutal, hair pulling might be cheap and schoolyard but to hell if it works) but I guess I expected more out of him.

My heart dropped in horror twice this chapter.

The first was when Jaunce decided to grab Blake’s hair, remembering it useful in a fight.

The second was when Blake ran.

Jaunce... I know full well that I said sibling fights are normal, but there are lines you DON’T cross! Good god, where the hell was Jacque, where was Willow?! I’m fully ready to give Winter a pass, because it’s not the the job of older siblings to break up fights, it’s the job of PARENTS!

God... pulling my sisters hair would’ve gotten me in very serious trouble... What the hell did these two go through together? What do they feel for each other, and... how badly are they hurting?...

(An aside, Weiss would’ve grown up to be a very happy young lady under Jaunce’s parents. She’d be a little swamped in siblings; but would blossom into a beautiful rose nurtured by warm love)

And Blake... Oh my god, poor Blake...

I know she’s fine in the original series, and she WILL be fine here. Whatever happens, we’re not losing Blake. (Thank God for plot armor...)

But with RWBY, Blake had everyone she needed to heal, to reconcile. Ruby’s bright eyed innocence, Yang’s deep concern, and Weiss still loving her teammate

Here...

Jaunce is badly wounded inside, and some anger finally burst out of his cold shell. And he’s learned to train it to a razors edge, to cut where it hurts. This Jaunce... he’s completely unprepared to deal with these intense, complex emotions.

Nora’s a savant at helping her teammates work through their feelings, but she can’t do it alone. Some of it HAS to come from them!

Yang still cares deeply for Blake, but without her familial trust and love of Ruby, it’s gonna be harder for her to help. Yang sometimes feels a little lost in the team, she’s still Blake’s friend, loves brawling with Nora, and teasing Jaunce. In fact, she’s one of the least changed characters here!

Idk... idk how they’ll save Blake.

(Pyrrha and Ren feel almost flat in this story. Pyrrha has been showing no signs of the stress her fame and loneliness causes her, and Weiss and Ren... I can’t remember any meaningful interactions between the two.)

Still, I love the story, and I’m dying for more!

Hair pulling. Second only to cape snagging he cheap, obvious and effective ways to defeat Team RWBY. Everyone should doing it.

I suppose everyone has their limits and a terrorist organisation dedicated to your families elimination probably exceeds those limits. But I kinda assumed Jaune would take this revelation better than Weiss (he still may, only just come out). Even relent his hard line stance conversing with Blake to concede the White Fang are not without some justification.

If regular Jaune and Weiss are idealists, black and white, right and wrong, I took Jaune Schnee as a realist. He understands his adoptive father uses faunus as tools he uses his children and he learnt to play the game. He understands Weiss ideal vision for the SDC endangers the flow of dust and moves to prevent it. He realises Blake is faunus and reverses his anti-faunus rant mid-sentence. Morally grey. Practical. Has a sense of which way the wind is blowing and picks the winning team. A survivor.

Still, again, I may have misread him. He is still Jaune Arc and the White Fang still terrorists. Or tiptoeing around Blake's feelings really has him at his wits end.

Can jaune actually be competent for once given his past in this fic? Other than that this rocks.

Clpas for jaune and nora is the hidden schmer haha...kinda wish to see how pryhha will be develop...i can see the scheming level is Nora JauneweissRuby pryhha yang ...ren is out of calculation cause he doesnt bother haha...though i feel weiss is overly paranoid of jaune and truly think jaune wanta to kill her...when in reality based on the story potrayal, overall chatacter and the feeling i get while reqding he truly cares for her and does look out for her every once awhile and do at least try to make sure she is ok...Nora n Blake seem think jaune is the more immature and insidious one but honestly they thought couldnt be more wrong...he doesn't want to sabotage or harm weiss at all and wish to win her through the right means n i can see him not cutting off weiss from the funding if he wins but cant say the same otherwise...plus he truly feel she is ill suited which cant be blame with how she is acting and behaving...she will be like her father just a lil better...that and it can be seen he truly see her going to suffer living like that and would be better off living as a huntress like winter...especially if they have to resort to unsavoury means cause he knows there is necessary evil...but the team again is very unbalance and stack agaisnt jaune...i feel a liltle unfair for the poor guy n i get underdog but honestly he rreally draw the shortstraw and almost feel like its done just to make him be the underdog

Haihhhhh i really don't like blake hypocricy on how she view and treat people and how she wish to be treated...in here or cannon...her attitude just rubs me the wrong way especially knowing her background n honestly most of her issue is self inflicted unlike the rest of team Rwby and JNPr in cannon or even now...she always has i am the only one that has the right point of view, action n thoughts and only i can do the right thing...just like a entitled brat in her own way thats from a pretty good suburban family probably from a minority race or past prosecuted n currently race but honestly dont have it that bad due to family and upperclass or upper middle class upbringing...and forgetting that others are currently facing prosecution or trouble too and only obcess with her own"justice"...

Nice story n intwresting...you made nora zeem way more than she should be but putting ruby n pryhha in one team is too much of a game breaker...they are arguably the two strongest in their year group...pretty unbalance in strength wise...and keeping yang n blake is a bit pointless since everyone got reshuffle so they dialogue seem a lil same n dull so far but its your story zo i look forward to see how things develop

A clever premise! Blonde Ruby is a hilarious concept and splitting up Ren and Nora isn’t something you see everyday. The fact that everyone is getting along WORSE than usual at this point in canon is also unusual, normally fics fix as many relationships as they break, but I think at this point the only people that are still at the status quo are Ruby and Yang.

Gotta say that the prank war was an interesting decision. You mentioned that Huntsman wouldn’t see being splashed with hot water as anything more than rude rather than dangerous, and that’s reasonable. But despite Nora’s insistence that it’s a defusing technique it’s really just made things worse. Especially since that being implicated as a prankster would definitely damage both Weiss and Jaune’s reputation with their father, which is directly counter to their main goals.

Still, having a great time reading and hope to see more soon!

Kind of hoping Sun would catch her. That'd teach her a lesson on pre-judging people. Kinda embarrassing for her semblance to fail too, in front of her team. Just beating the humility into Weiss.

Wise of Ruby to understand the prank war would lead to bitterness at its escalating pace and try a new approach (though, I don't know it is over until Nora says it is over).

I love the shenanigans the teams are getting into! And that Ren prevented a fight from breaking out!

The idea of taking the group to white fang territory is amazing! (I confess to have never seen S1-3) It’ll bring the tension with Blake’s past up, and give the Schnee siblings a real reason to watch out for each other.

It’s all fine and good fighting with your sibling, but Jaune and Weiss never mean each other serious harm. The White Fang do. I can’t imagine Jaune or Weiss would let each other get hurt or kidnapped.

Can’t wait!

I really laughed and giggled a lot this chapter!

It was really silly and adorable and childish and I loved it.

Nora did an amazing job bringing down the tensions. This feels a lot like the food fight from S2, easily showcasing the combat prowess and youthful silliness of all involved. (I love that even Weiss got into the game! Also, Pyrrha is an adorable dirty cheater and I love her)

Curious as to what will happen next.

But really, this was an amazing chapter. It was funny, it gave us a natural time skip, it set up future events, and all around left me feeling good.
