I got to the part where Asako was being hounded by the Aleric soldiers and when I saw Hiei's anger, I immediately began playing Infinite's theme song from Sonic Forces. I did so because that song could easily be edited to be a song about a man's devotion to the woman he loves and his fierce determination to defend her.

I rarely got to watch the anime as a kid despite how enjoyable it was and still is to watch. It only aired on Adult Swim during that time and I was strictly restricted by my parents to watch it, So I could only sneak peeks at it by pretending to flip through the channels. I had almost completely tossed it to the wayside after I started middle school. Two years into my junior high career, my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer and made me forget that the anime ever existed. I grew into an MLP fan and just watched old American styled cartoons like Looney Toons and a small number of cartoons from the 90s.

Eight years later, I graduated from high school with honors along with an english award for my adept writing skill. Since my interest for My Little Pony had taken a rather steep decline, I have been looking through the animes that I never really got to watch until much later, and while I was on Hulu, I found Yu Yu Hakasho and decided to watch the first season all the way through. I not just finished it, but also made it halfway through season two. After seeing Hiei again and watching his fights during the Dark Tournament saga, I wanted to see if there were any romance fan fiction stories that were any good. By that, I mean that the story did not force him to act out of character to the point of acting like someone he's not all through out the story. I normally like to read romance stories because I want to see some of the loner characters have some happiness in their brooding lives. Anyway, getting back to my original topic. That was when I found your story.

When I read the description, I was interested to see how the relationship between Hiei and a woman from a race he despises would turn out. My expectations were rather low to be perfectly honest with you. I expected the relationship to be rushed through and have both characters go into the love at first sight crap. No, in fact, you handled Hiei's personality extremely well, keeping him true to his character and not just him, but Asako too. You made sure that their relationship so far had been one built over time and consistent contact that did not end in a out of nowhere love confession from either of them. Their bond is built from the time and experiences they have shared together over the course of the story, And it continues to grow as the story progresses. Also, you handled Asako's personality and the trauma she suffered at the hands of Minato and his gang. She tries to keep appearances, but her trauma does cause her to react irregularly. All in all, you handled the characters' personalities masterfully.

I want to point out that what you made so far is a work of beauty. You are truly a talented and amazing writer. That is not just my opinion, but an honest to god fact. I am going to continue reading this story to its end and bid you farewell.
