I always knew Grimmel had a bright side. It's too bad we don't know anything about him sence he's meant to be different from the other villains.
If U want a cool idea, maybe expand on Grimmel's story. We don't know anything about his backstory other than his first kill. That would be fun.
So, U know how he has parallels with Hiccup, maybe his journey started w/ him being sick of being... "This", & wanted to serve a greater purpose. Or w/ it could've been a deal/debt/dare by someone in his past, or protecting his village to prove himself which became hunting. (Idk, I just think he has a cool origin that we didn't know).

* Here it is: So they were partners, for all we know they were best friends. Maybe even include how they met. And b'coz he has parallels w/ Hiccup, he may've begun hunting to be accepted thru a dare/debt/deal he made w/ someone in the past, (U decide). And U know how he's confident, so he might forget his actions aren't always well received. Thus, when he "betrays" her during an attack, he's actually snatched up by the Chimeragon resulting in her believing he betrayed her b'coz... maybe he does do a lot of stupid stuff. (Idk).

You could change the kids names to what they are actually called now, nuffink and zephyr. Love the story tho

I actually think Drago went through the little misadventure that the earlier versions of How to Train Your Dragon 3 were going to use in the film until it had to be cut due to time constraints. The original draft had Drago survive his last battle and wash up on an island that had a dragon already residing on it. After he hears about being replaced, Drago decides to return but has to befriend the dragon to escape the island. In the process, he regains his humanity and later arrives to help Berk defeat Grimmel and the Warlords during the final battle.
