a suit of armor interesting, this is Goblin Slayer so we know his thinking outside the box so armor that only defense doest seem his style and armor that is covered in spikes does it seem right either maybe it has an AOE effect on goblins maybe it drains goblins of strength or health and give it to Goblin Slayer or jest a fear effect to any gobline that sees him? like to see where this fic goes.

why would he ask for a full suit of armor
when to him his armor is perfect for the job it does what it needs protection without burdening him either by flexibility maneuverability or weighing him down and without being a waste od resources cheap so its easily replaced and repairable but strong enough for goblins
he can use any weapon so he needs nothing fancy its goblins weapons become worthless to fast with fancy ones being a waste when simple and cheap gets the job done
he can make craft tools of the trade all about efficiency and effectiveness
id figure he ask for an actual buff to make himself stronger faster more durable regeneration or even magic idk or something so he safer hunting longer

The GS canon had Goblin Slayer beloved by the gods, exactly because he wouldn't act on a script. Whenever he entered the equation, the gods were guaranteed that the result would be a surprise.

Basically a weaker version of doom guy that talks.
But a slayer is still a slayer their badasses.
