this was wonderful! I enjoy the show, but the so called heroes are just so frustrating! catra is by far the best of them, and it's lovely to see her as a hero here.

Very good Glimmer and Catra interactions this chapter. I wonder how long it will take to sink in that Glimmer really doesn't hate her?

I guess without Catra to help her pick, Scorpia didn't get as good a dress. I'm a little surprised she showed at all, but then without Catra she probably doesn't have any friends to hang out with in the Horde. It's funny that Catra's still the one willing to stick up for her, despite her only interaction with Scorpia being in battle (though being hugged instead of killed probably gave her a good idea of Scorpia's personality after she got over the shock).

While Catra's speech is almost certainly accurate, it's sadly given in a way that's unlikely to convince many people (if you make the wrong kind of fuss, they can pretend you're clearly unhinged so the they can ignore what you're saying). At least not initially, maybe it will stick with a couple. It seems to have firmed up Adora's resolve but in largely the opposite direction of canon ('we'll do it on our own if we have to' instead of 'we can do it together') so that may or may not be an improvement.

I do love that Entrapta's just curious about how the Horde would kill her rather than offended.

Catra and Bow have enough faith in Catra (and inexperience with trauma) to leap to possession as an explanation? That's nice. What's funny is that explanation will fly because mental manipulation is one of the things Shadow Weaver does (and personally, it's my bet for the 'dark magic' that got her kicked out of Mystacor, because I don't see why manipulating shadows should be banned but memory erasure is scary and abusable as hell). Angella even seems to have bought it, maybe because she's seen Catra working hard for the Rebellion and hitting Casta once without even killing her is hardly going to be a the one thing a Horde spy would endanger their cover for.

Also, the main cast managing to just breeze out of the country was probably the best possible outcome. I can see how it happened, though. What are the guards going to do, try to stop someone who's a companion to Glimmer and She-Ra while still reeling from having their supposedly impenetrable defenses being broken by a local boogey-man that She-Ra saved them from? They're probably too confused and shocked to do anything.

Surprisingly, context, or just having someone new to blame, has helped Catra move into a somewhat healthier mindset vis a vis Shadow Weaver and Adora. It feels organic, so that's some good character development.

I do like that Glimmer's immediately willing to believe Catra the moment she sports a real injury and turns supportive. Admittedly, Glimmer's not good at planning, but that's what Catra's for and Catra's had a while to study Shadow Weaver and think.

Minor typo "Also, since he's only showed up" should be "Also, since she's only showed up."

Well, I didn't see that ending coming. Thankfully Casta's screaming at the end, since it means she's not dead as a doornail, because I've seen Catra's claws cut through metal and injure She-Ra, who can survive being shot by a tank.

You've got a sentence fragment here "They've part of the rebellion."

This chapter reminds me that I wish I knew how sorcerers and sorceresses worked in She-Ra. Not knowing yourself, of course, you can't have Bow and Glimmer explain too much.

Adora's thoughts about hugging is just painful and I mean that in the most complimentary way.

It's always interesting when the characters' basic competence shines through all their hang-ups.
Catra: Logical objections about Light Spinner (Was prison not an option? Well, maybe not for someone with magical powers, so I guess that does leave death or exile).
Adora: Pretty good cover story after that offends Casta. Especially for someone who doesn't understand any of the people around her.

Monokub chapter 13 . 4/9/2019
Awwww come oooon, you ended the episode way too soon X{ there's barely any note of paranoia or panic through the episode. You could've at least added two or three delusional scenes. Also your cliffhangers ending is a little bizarre- "Casta says something and catra reacts by scratching her"? Even in the context of it, it doesn't make sense as a cliffhanger. Cliffhangers are good when people understand what's happening most of the time, or to build suspense for what happens immediately next chapter it you try to make it sudden or unexpected.

Making one where it's supposed to be dramatic and confusing doesn't work in this context though because there's no build up to it. I just see it saying setting Casta says thank you to and catra scratches her. There's barely any buildup or suspense that they were being targeted or anything so this whole scratching thing comes out of left field.

Still looking forward to next chapter though

Ooh I'm looking forward to the next chapter! Bare in mind you're dealing with adora AND Catra, so there's a million ways you can go abou doing this! You could have it just adora getting paranoid/haunted, have Catra do it instead, have both, make them see their fears, make Catra think adora is unfaithful in their friendship in some way, etc.

What I'm saying is, go to town and have fun!

I'm a little disappointed over how much of the episode we skipped, though what we have here is certainly good. I didn't expect to see the whole thing, since you've been sticking with Adora, but we didn't even get to see them arrive at the castle or Catra interact with Entrapta (which I admit I was hoping for).

Still, we get a bit more insight into Catra's thoughts, though I think Adora and Bow aren't in the position to put the pieces together. I think she's writing people off that she thinks she's going to lose ahead of time as a defense mechanism.
